2010 Spring: Calvin Klein, CK Jeans, and CK Underwear

Clean. Precise. Minimal. Three terms Calvin Klein wants you to use when describing its Spring '10 collection. Staying true to the house's less-is-more aesthetic, Francisco Costa has delivered a line of basics with a sexy utilitarian nature. You'll find organic fabrics and most colors of the rainbow: sand, white, and khaki as staples, canary, melon, poppy, fuchsia, turquoise, and cobalt as accents. Drawstring cargos, denim vests, fitted blazers, parkas, denim judo pants, and shirt dresses are all solid. But one print piece stands out as the cool black sheep: a black-and-white, tie-dye dress that's feminine and bold.

Swimsuits are also part of the Spring family - a two-piece in warm gray and a one piece in solid gray or gray Bengal print. The handbags are equally minimal; hobos, totes, and rounded clutches are smooth and unstructured, with gold and silver hardware. Wooden-stacked heels and flat sandals are au naturel and sporty.

Fab Flash: Eva Mendes Delivers a One, Two Knockout For Calvin Klein Underwear

Get ready for a one, two knockout from Eva Mendes. Her role as the new face of Seductive Comfort by Calvin Klein Underwear and the Secret Obsession scent, will launch in magazines worldwide in September.

The actress, who has been devoted to the label's underwear since her campaign with Klein in the '80s, stated, "I wear [Calvin Klein] G-strings all of the time on the red carpet and when shooting for a film because you don't see the [panty] lines."

Shot by photographer Steven Meisel, the campaign's intent was to stray away from its older images of skinnier body types. "This is a departure from more slender body types that have typically been used in Calvin Klein Underwear ads. But this is not so much about a trend of being more curvaceous. This [bra] product is made for a curvaceous woman" said president and chief operating officer of Calvin Klein Inc., Tom Murry.

Just how devoted is the actress to her panties? Rumor has it that Mendes will most likely be donning her favorite nude G-string, (under clothes, of course), in her upcoming flick with cohorts Annette Bening, Debra Messing, Meg Ryan, Candice Bergen, and Jada Pinkett Smith in The Women.

Fab Flash: Eva Mendes For Calvin Klein Underwear

After the success of David Beckham for Emporio Armani Underwear, Calvin Klein has gone back to its roots and named its newest celebrity underwear model: Eva Mendes.

She will follow in the footsteps of Mark Wahlberg, Hilary Swank, and Djimon Hounsou, and also be the face of a new unnamed Calvin Klein fragrance. The ads debut this Fall, and will likely feature Eva wearing little more than she did for her PETA ad.

Her appointment coincides with the launch of Seductive Comfort, a line focused on addressing intimates for women with fuller figures and bust lines. Keeping this in mind, as Calvin Klein President Tom Murry put it: "When we looked at the talent, Eva was right." And that's that.

Which Eva Mendes Do You Prefer, Sexy or Ladylike?

We believe Eva Mendes was born sexy, so I don't quite understand it when she hides her sensuality. I've noticed that the actress has been dressing ladylike, sometimes matronly, for most of her red-carpet appearances. Don't get me wrong, she's still stunning, but especially after seeing her in those steamy Calvin Klein underwear ads, I've been craving more of Eva's sexy side. I'm not saying she should dress risque, I am merely asking for more body-hugging silhouettes - less oversized florals and poufy skirts. Is that too much to ask for? Which Eva do you prefer - sexy or ladylike?

It was announced that Eva will continue to represent Calvin Klein by appearing in the both the Calvin Klein Jeans and the Calvin Klein Underwear Fall global ad campaigns. Hotness. In four decades, Klein has created a global empire with sub-brands like Calvin Klein Collection, Calvin Klein Jeans, and Calvin Klein Underwear. Klein practically made Kate Moss a household name by using her for several racy underwear ads, and was responsible for taking Christy Turlington to supermodel status. The list goes on and on. Fab Ad: Calvin Klein Fall '08

We showed you the Fall ad campaign for Calvin Klein Jeans, Calvin Klein Underwear with Eva Mendes, and now it's time to examine the latest ads for the Calvin Klein collection. This one stars Victoria's Secret model Doutzen Kroes and Halle Berry's boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. I'm all for mysterious rendezvous in the night but is it me or do these ads seem highly dramatized? You know, Doutzen waiting for her man in front of a new BMW; Gabriel seducing Doutzen on a pool chair; the duo having blank looks in their eyes. At this point, I'm more concerned about what's bugging them than looking at the clothes. What's your take?

Model of the Week, Victoria's Secret Edition: Angela Lindvall

As well as Lauren Conrad and Hayden Panettiere, I got a chance to chat with Angela Lindvall at the 12th Annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Born January 14, 1979, Oklahoma-born Angela is a Fab favorite model and also an actress. She has done ad campaigns for Fendi, Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Jil Sander, Chanel, and H&M as well as countless editorials and magazine covers. She is also a passionate environmentalist and vegetarian. Lindvall is married to a professional diver and has two sons.

What is your preferred style of panty?
I like wearing boy's underwear actually.

Boxers or briefs?!
Briefs. Like tidy whities. Underwear I think is really interesting because you can be wearing jeans and a tee shirt and be really frumpy but if you have on sexy underwear you feel really good. What's underneath is how you feel. This one time I had on a really sexy dress but I had on my ugliest pair of underwear and I just felt very un-sexy.

What do you think is the best lingerie to wear on a first date?
Something with coverage but is lacy and pretty. A slip or a little camisole and underwear. I don't really like thongs, I like a full underwear.

What do you want for Christmas?
I would love to get endless hours of sleep.

Heels or flats?
I love a high heel but I'm so tall that I feel a little strange wearing them.

What was your last big splurge?
There's this shop here in LA called Satine. I always get in trouble there!

You feel the sexiest when...
When I feel totally comfortable and free to just totally explore and experiment and just be really open. Whenever I feel very secure and content.

Diane von Furstenberg created a Wonder Woman of a collection, Viktor & Rolf broke runway tradition, and Barneys New York's Simon Doonan tied the knot . . . with his boyfriend! But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Read on.

Viktor & Rolf sparked a new virtual runway trend.
Rihanna became the Gucci/UNICEF spokeswoman.
Vogue Italia published its first ever, all-black issue.
Simon Doonan married longtime beau Jonathan Adler.
Victoria Beckham did it all. She created a dress collection, judged Project Runway Season Four's finale, modeled for Marc Jacobs, and signed a deal with Emporio Armani underwear campaign.

Diane von Furstenberg created a Wonder Woman collection, a comic book, launched her "Women We Can" campaign, and hosted a fabulous post-show dinner at New York Fashion Week where yours truly witnessed the action first hand.

Put a well-loved American fashion house together with a sultry actress plus renowned photog Steven Meisel and what do you get? This. This is a preview of what's to come for the new face of Calvin Klein underwear and fragrance Eva Mendes. Mendes and Meisel have been posing and snapping away for the ads as well as the May cover of Italian Vogue. I don't know about, this. She looks like she's lying in colorblocked AstroTurf and the faux-crotch shot isn't the best angle. I do like the old-school white conical bra. Thoughts?
