The museum plans to explore the superhero's iconic costume of cape, mask, and bodysuit as it has appeared in fashion. The exhibit, which is co-chaired by Giorgio Armani, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and <B>Vogue</b> editor Anna Wintour, will run from May 7 to September 1, and the accompanying gala, known as <a href="http://fabsugar.com/tag/The+Met%27s+Costume+Institute+Benefit+Gala" >the Oscars of the fashion industry</a>, will be hosted on May 5.</p> <p><span class="inline left"></span></p> <p>Approximately 70 ensembles will be featured, from high-performance sportswear and iconic movie costumes to <a href="http://www.fabsugar.com/g2/entries/avant-garde" >avant-garde</a> couture looks spanning the decades, all inspired by Catwoman, Wonder Woman, the X-Men, and more.
