Fab Ad: McQ Alexander McQueen Spring 2008

We can always count on Alexander McQueen to do the unexpected. With his diffusion line McQ's Spring ad campaign, McQueen definitely threw me for a loop . . . so much that I had to share. Rather than depicting the clothes in his collection, the photos focus on a group of all-American cheerleaders, right down to the colors of their uniforms. Supposedly, the collection has sport-based silhouettes, hence the connection; are you buying it?

Rodarte's Death Valley Voodoo Ladies: Love It or Hate It?

Rodarte continues to be a hot ticket at New York Fashion Week. With a unique point of view and celebrity cheerleader Kirsten Dunst, their next moves are closely monitored. I'm always intrigued by their inspirations - in the past it's been Japanese horror movies and Star Wars. For Spring, the Mulleavy sisters took a trip to Death Valley, hence their dusty palette and rugged trimmings. Laura referenced freaky, dark feathery friends: "California condors, the big, bald, black vultures that faced extinction in the late '80s." Aside from the black sand on the runway, the interpretation wasn't too literal - tribal tattooed arms provide some voodoo mystique. Rodarte partnered with Nicholas Kirkwood on their always intense shoes. I'm on the barbwire fence with this once, what about you? Fab Flash: Victoria's Secret Goes Back to School

School just got sexier. Victoria's Secret's Pink line will take over sweatpants, hoodies, panties, T-shirts, and totes emblazoned with college logos and be available Friday at victoriassecret.com. A bit early for back-to-school shopping, but savvy nonetheless. Then, on July 1, the VS Pink Collegiate Collection, will be at 375 Victoria's Secret stores - near college and university campuses - as well as in the VS catalogs and campus bookstores. Who will be the cheerleader for this endeavor? Fresh faced Behati Prinsloo.

I was never into wearing school-pride gear. I went to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York where the competition to look unique and cool was in effect every day; hoodies and sweatpants weren't acceptable. But that's fashion school for you. Would wear a feminized school hoodie?

Hayden Panettiere Loves Her Some Shoes

On the Heroes set, Hayden Panettiere spends most of her time in a cheerleading uniform, but what does she like to wear when it's up to her to choose? She sat down for the February Lucky cover and spilled on her favorite color - "bright, exotic, greenish blue," her favorite brands, and more, all while trying on every single pair of shoes on-set at the LA photoshoot. On being a shoe girl: "I'm kind of obsessive about really stunning heels. I get excited even taking the elevator up to the shoe floor at Bergdorf's . . . I'm short, so I'm always on the hunt for cute shoes with a little extra height."

The Golden Globes Red Carpet: Hayden Panettiere

Must Have Look: Miniskirts

Miniskirts are definitely in for Fall. I don't know about you, but I have not worn a miniskirt since I hung up my cheerleading uniform about 10 years ago. Fortunately the miniskirts that are in right now are really cute and will look great paired with this season's other hot trends including Mary Janes and Ankle Boots. Also, thanks to Leggings being back, almost anyone can pull off this look without worrying about too much leg exposure. Dark tights work well too!
