On Our Radar: May Anderson Goes From Modeling To Designing

Model May Anderson, best known for her work with Victoria's Secret and dating Kid Rock, is taking a hiatus from modeling to design denim.

Chick with Guns is a range of cropped black, grey, and dark blue jeans with embellishments on the butt and gold thread. The most popular style is the "Mayday" (worn by May, left), a spray-on skinny jean with a '70s kick. The Danish beauty, along with old friends and partners Gabriel Nigro and Jesper Skade, works solely with top manufacturers in Italy, so you're guaranteed a good pair of jeans.

What a Stud: DIY a Nailhead Bulletin Board

I love my studded bulletin board below, but I totally ripped off Freckles Chick. That girl is so creative. Here's my version of her original spruced-up bulletin board project:

I love it! It was simple enough, I suppose. I myself struggled, because I tried to use the wrong materials/tools. Half of the items below did not work out. Can you guess which two?

First mistake: I required a staple gun. The office stapler didn't work. At all. I just ended up with a large pile of bent staples. Once I had the right tool, it was smooth sailing. I just ironed the fabric, pulled it taut around the board, folded back the corners, and stapled away. In total it took me 20 minutes or so. Second mistake: grabbing brads, not furniture/upholstery nails. I don't know what I was thinking. They look the same, I suppose.

I eye-balled the nail head placement. Though, after pushing in more than half of the nails, I realized that a three-inch ruler is printed on the backside of the packaging. Oh well. From afar, any incorrect spacing is hard to detect. This part of the project took me 45 minutes to complete. In the end, I was able to create a fabulous alternative to the typical, bland bulletin board. Thanks Freckles Chick for the wonderful idea!
