Comme des Garcons Slingback Clogs: Love It or Hate It?

Things got controversial when I talked about a pair of clogs recently, so I wanted to see what you all thought about these Comme des Garcons Slingback Clogs ($490). They're a little too chunky and sparse for my taste - what about you?

Simply Fab: Sanita Black Patent Leather Clog

I love clogs. Whether they have traditional hand-painted flowers on them or are cosmopolitan slick, like these Sanita Black Patent Leather Clogs ($115), which are the closest thing I've found to a super comfortable and cute shoe.

I know what you're thinking: They look like hospital shoes. But I saw a girl wearing these last weekend and thought they looked very functional chic. The bit of height and tread on the bottom prevent exposure and slippage in murky, icy waters and the patent leather makes them acceptable in fashion circles. You ask what kind of stylish shoe one can wear in a blizzard? Look no further.

Chanel's Barn Bonanza!

Karl does country. It's impossible to guess Karl's next move. And who would have thought it would be to the barn? His Spring collection, replete with stars and spectacles, lightened the mood. The clothes were frilly, feminine, and colorful, adorned with thematic accessories like Chanel clogs, flowers in the hair, and drippy jewels. Prince was there - random - and so were Chanel devotees Rihanna, Claudia Schiffer, Dasha Zhukova, and Clemence Poesy. With Karl playing a part, and Lily Allen serenading, it looked like a thrilling fashion hoedown.

Trend Alert: Silky Boyfriend Shirts

This is how Ashley Olsen does Summer. Itty-bitty denim cut-offs, retro footwear - clogs! - and a silky boyfriend shirt. We've moved past boyfriend jeans folks, it's on to that tousled, just-left-my-man's-place, vibe. If you ask me, boyfriend shirts are more flattering than boyfriend jeans anyway. With this borrowed-from-the-boys style you can leave a couple buttons undone, roll the cuffs, and sexily have your shirt blow in the wind.

Style for Style: How to Look Chic in the Chill

Correct me if I'm wrong: January and February are the coldest of the cold months in lots of places. When I lived in New York City, I had to master the art of looking chic in the chill. Luckily, I had a roommate who had previously lived in Boston who showed me the ropes. I adore Emmanuelle Chriqui's outfit here. She looks cozy and casual, but still stylish with her stark white Snowjoggers and funky earrings. Whether you're in the chill or will be visiting the chill, these tips are guaranteed to prevent you from freezing your tooshie.

Long Undershirts. I would wear long cotton, or silk, undershirts under my sweaters and tuck them into my pants. This blocks the evil Arctic wind from blowing up your clothes.
Cashmere. It really is a cashmerical! If you can't afford 100% cashmere, some favorite more affordable brands like J.Crew and Old Navy have items with a cashmere blend. A little bit goes a long way!

Keep your limbs cozy. In the Winter I have about three pairs of gloves floating around my entry way - one pair floating around my handbag. Scarves, hats and cashmere (again) socks are a must too. The feeling of being tucked in helps fight the chill.
Fur. Whether it's the real deal or faux, the warm fuzziness of fur does a body good. I have two Marc by Marc Jacobs faux fur hoodie jackets that are my go-to cover ups for late night walks with Annabelle.
Footwear. I had this morbid fear of slipping on ice while traipsing around Manhattan. When it was sIushy outside, I ditched my cute flats and heels for functional boots and clogs. Yes, clogs. I would wear them with cashmere socks and super cute coats and feel safe. I would then change into cuter shoes at the office.

One crazy London Fashion Week catwalk show you can always count on comes straight from the hands and mind of Gareth Pugh.

The enfant terrible did it again, sending this look out with built-up shoulders that would make any NFL linebacker jealous! Between the long black fringe paired with minidress, the white socks and platform clog shoes, I always love seeing what spectacle Gareth has in store for us next. But let's get real for a moment. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing this. Would you?

Look of the Day: Golden Girl

Beauty Marked! A Daytime Moisturizer With SPF

Last week I told you I needed a new day time moisturizer with SPF. It has been ingrained in our heads that we must use sunscreen on a regular basis and I try to abide by this. While I like the moisturizer I've been using, this Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer, SPF 15, Fragrance Free, $9.99, surprise! It expires this month. It actually has an expiration date on it and it perfectly lasted me about a year and a half. I would recommend this Cetaphil moisturizer but I'm wondering what your tried and true daytime moisturizers with SPF are.

Beauty Mark #1, found by JessNess, is this Olay Complete All Day UV Defense Moisture Lotion with SPF 15. This was recommended by a couple ladies so this is my top pick. Designed for sensitive skin, this light, non-greasy lotion is 100% color and fragrance free.
