When I'm dreaming modestly, my thoughts wander towards a clean closet, but when I'm dreaming big, I imagine something like this dressing room.
The standout detail in this dressing room, of course, is that beautiful clawfoot bathtub. It provides the perfect place for a lady of leisure to primp before a night out on the town, while deciding what pair of heels to slip on.

While it's definitely not the most practical of placements - I'd worry about water damage to the rugs, as well as humidity levels - it's the kind of decadent, quirky decision that makes a house a home. And in this case, I'd dare to say it's a home of a fashionista.

Ask Casa: Sprucing Up Mirrored Closet Doors

Dear Casa,

Our master bedroom has mirrored closet doors covering one whole wall. The house was built in the early '80s, so they are all silver and gold metal. It's awful because it really ends up being the main focal point of the room. My fiance doesn't want to cover them completely up as he says he likes the illusion of it making the room bigger, and I would like to at least keep one of the three panels as a full length mirror. Do you have any ideas for sprucing them up to look a bit more upscale and not as tacky?

Do You Store Your Clothes Out in the Open?

Desire to Inspire recently rounded up some images of clothes stored out in the open that's really got me considering the storage style. Back in '08, I wrote a trend alert about apparel used as home décor - which is one thing - but I'm talking about really storing your wardrobe out for all eyes to see. This photo from Danish magazine Bolig makes the style look flawless, like a high-end boutique, but I know my shoes would never last lined up like that. It does seem like a nice way to keep your pretty party dresses, though, or even work clothes that you tend to wear five days a week. Do any of you do this?

For those of us who are making do with overstuffed, poorly designed closets, this remodel project is the stuff that dreams are made of . . . or a serious case of room envy! What was once an attic in a Victorian was, thanks to the work of Lundberg Design, transformed into a bath and dressing suite. The new space eschews standard walls in favor of translucent glass panels, which separate the bath from the dressing area.
