Fab Flash: Amanda Bynes Plays Designer

Teen-favorite actress, Amanda Bynes, can now add fashion designer to her already lengthy resume. Steve & Barry's, the 200-unit clothing chain specializing in university logo sweatshirts, who also has a deal with SJP's Bitten, is now also working with this actress.

The exclusive collection, called Dear, will feature 120 pieces of clothing, 28 accessory styles (bags, shoes, belts, cold-weather items), and 70 pieces of jewelry. It will reflect Bynes' personal sense of style and comfort and will hit Steve & Barry's stores on August 10. The good news for all you budget-loving fashionistas is that all items will retail at $20 or below!

Dolce Vita's online boutique is home away from home to many fashionistas (especially shoe worshippers) who can't get themselves to the Dolce Vita stores in NYC and LA. They mainly carry clothing and shoes from their namesake brand, but they also have accessories and goods from Vivienne Westwood, H. Fredrikkson and McGuinn. Their shoe sale section is worth checking out often!

Dolce Vita also features various artists on their site and sells their paintings. Fashion + art = heaven on heels!

Designer Spotlight: Bodyamr

Tom Ford, Net-a-porter and British Vogue have all raved about Bodyamr, a posh label created in 2004. If you haven't already checked them out, it's to your benefit to check this out pronto!

The Spring/Summer '07 collection is beyond luxurious and all about the details (think funnel necks, draping, ruching, braiding). This line is definitely not for shy girls as each piece is made to stand out in a crowd. If you want to invest, stores like Harrods in London, Net-a-porter and Harvey Nichols carry their chic goods. Even if the price tags are beyond your budget (a draped top can go for over $500), it's still worth a peek just for inspiration!

Trend Alert: All That Glitters

Whether you're 6 years old or 30, the holidays are the perfect time to revel in all that glitters. Given, I don't need an excuse to wear such shimmering objects, but maybe you do. Glitter is more understated compared to its shine sisters - sequins and paillettes - and so perfect right now. If I owned this Anya Hindmarch Glitter Clutch ($425), I would flaunt it morning, noon, and night . . .

The words "rent the runway" are music to my ears. It's the ideal situation for a gal on a budget - falling in love with a catwalk look, borrowing it for a day, then returning it to its rightful owner. Now I can do that with Rent the Runway. Dying to begin? First sign up to be added to the wait list. Once you're in, peruse its A-list selection (Proenza Schouler, Matthew Williamson, Yigal Azrouel), get the dress in two different sizes, wear it, keep it for four or eight days, and send it back in a prepaid package without dry cleaning it. Trust me, there's some good stuff in there, and the prices don't sting ($50 to $200). Perfect for that holiday wedding or office party!
