There are more options now than ever before. I still require a pair - for skiing in the Sierras - and I'm having a hard time deciding. Style For Style: Tuck, It, In

Many of you are probably already savvy to this one, but just in case, I must spread the knowledge.

When in extreme weather, or if you're just weather-sensitive as I like to call it, a smart way to bundle up is to simply tuck, it, in. Meaning: Wear long undershirts and tank tops under your sweaters and be sure to tuck them into your pants or skirt. This way the wind chill can't blow up your torso. It's also beneficial to tuck your gloves into your jacket, or buy nice long snuggly gloves for more coverage. Lastly, though scarves are a cute accessory, they're firstly functional so tuck those into your coat rather than having them dangle on the outside. I promise you'll still look cute. All tucked and ready to play in the snow?

Style for Style: How to Look Chic in the Chill

Correct me if I'm wrong: January and February are the coldest of the cold months in lots of places. When I lived in New York City, I had to master the art of looking chic in the chill. Luckily, I had a roommate who had previously lived in Boston who showed me the ropes. I adore Emmanuelle Chriqui's outfit here. She looks cozy and casual, but still stylish with her stark white Snowjoggers and funky earrings. Whether you're in the chill or will be visiting the chill, these tips are guaranteed to prevent you from freezing your tooshie.

Long Undershirts. I would wear long cotton, or silk, undershirts under my sweaters and tuck them into my pants. This blocks the evil Arctic wind from blowing up your clothes.
Cashmere. It really is a cashmerical! If you can't afford 100% cashmere, some favorite more affordable brands like J.Crew and Old Navy have items with a cashmere blend. A little bit goes a long way!

Keep your limbs cozy. In the Winter I have about three pairs of gloves floating around my entry way - one pair floating around my handbag. Scarves, hats and cashmere (again) socks are a must too. The feeling of being tucked in helps fight the chill.
Fur. Whether it's the real deal or faux, the warm fuzziness of fur does a body good. I have two Marc by Marc Jacobs faux fur hoodie jackets that are my go-to cover ups for late night walks with Annabelle.
Footwear. I had this morbid fear of slipping on ice while traipsing around Manhattan. When it was sIushy outside, I ditched my cute flats and heels for functional boots and clogs. Yes, clogs. I would wear them with cashmere socks and super cute coats and feel safe. I would then change into cuter shoes at the office.

I love clogs. Whether they have traditional hand-painted flowers on them or are cosmopolitan slick, like these Sanita Black Patent Leather Clogs ($115), which are the closest thing I've found to a super comfortable and cute shoe.

I know what you're thinking: They look like hospital shoes. But I saw a girl wearing these last weekend and thought they looked very functional chic. The bit of height and tread on the bottom prevent exposure and slippage in murky, icy waters and the patent leather makes them acceptable in fashion circles. You ask what kind of stylish shoe one can wear in a blizzard? Look no further.

Bono and wife Ali Hewson's elevated eco-conscious clothing brand showed off a darker mood this season, but not to worry, the presence of Edun's signature exotic prints abounded in pops of silky fuchsia and electric blue combos. Even as the first model took her turn on the runway, the clothes delivered a strong message: the Edun girl, as the program notes, "has taken her punk rock roots on safari." With that said, this is one urban-infused African safari trip we've ever embarked upon. Among the most prevalently featured prints were zebra, leopard, gazelles - reincarnated into prettily draped shoulder dresses, loud shirt dresses, and even twist dresses. To add a layer of functional Winter warmth into the mix, Edun's Fall '12 lineup showcased boxy ribbed turtlenecks, leather slickers, and a plethora of structured, tough-girl overcoats. Cold weather, beware - this cool mix of animal-inspired patterns and chunky outerwear packs a seasonal punch.
