In fact, it's all about inspiration - doesn't this look remind you of Cameron Diaz's fuchsia/turquoise Dior ensemble at The Met's Institute Gala last year? At the TCA All-Star party, Becki wore a purple ruffle dress, but the exciting part is that she accessorized with turquoise and green earrings, and turquoise peep-toe pumps. 2009 American Music Awards: Best Dressed

A wide range of personalities and styles stepped onto the American Music Awards red carpet tonight. And while there was some color, the best looks were neutral, black, and all-a-glitter. From Rihanna's laser cut Marchesa to Kristen Bell's cool Christian Cota skirt and top, silhouettes were experimental. Glitzy accessories topped off most of the contender's looks. Rihanna: A Fashion Metamorphosis

Enter into the world of Rihanna. Since 2005, the Barbadian beauty caught my attention with her catchy songs, and even more so, her megawatt style. When Rihanna first hit the scene, she stayed within the sexy singer realm via colorful body-con frocks and separates. As the years went along, she took a turn towards high fashion. After attending numerous runway shows, Rihanna developed an edgier sense of dressing - who can forget those star shaped pasties - and started donning clothes and accessories from the likes of Chanel, Alexander Wang, and Rodarte, to name a few. Despite a tough year, the songstress continues to impress me with her daring in-your-face ensembles and experimental hairdos. Let's take a look at Rihanna's astounding fashion metamorphosis.

Trend Alert: Lacy Layers

Just when I thought I was over lace, Sienna wears it fresh. Not only is this outfit a wonderful example of styling prowess - from the mismatching, to the layers, to the silhouettes - but it makes lacy layers look ever so lovely. If you keep the color story similar, a lace tank can add a flirty touch to a look. Sienna's is cropped, showing off her saucy leopard print Topshop pants. You too can achieve this look, just DIY crop your lacy layer. If there were ever a time to encourage experimentation, this is it.

Trend Alert: Tasty Tulips

To be fair, everything Diane wears is tasty. But rarely do we see her so vibrant in mismatching colors and wearing blingy accessories. Rejoice! Here she is between shopping visits in Berlin in a tasty tulip Stella McCartney print skirt (with obi belt), yellow tee, cascading necklace, and Chanel bag. Metallic sandals appear to be both comfortable and functional. The latest crop of tulip skirts are unique and heavily draped, inspiring experimentation. Screw playing it safe, Diane never does.

2010 Miami Swim: Mara Hoffman

If there's one designer whose prints put me in a tizzy, it's Mara Hoffman. And when Mara ventured into swimwear last year it made complete sense - her exotic aesthetic perfectly translates to the beach. Her show at Miami swim, where Whitney Port attended in an adorable op-art print dress, was beyond sizzling. Cuts were experimental and prints were psychedelic. Fun details like neon fringe, chain belts, turbans, cut outs, and braids kept things interesting. Not to be overlooked are flowy, sexy caftans and cover-ups, in funky tribal prints. Colors spanned the spectrum. How you feeling? Hot, hot, hot.

Sneak Peek! H&M Fall '09

We're in the thick of Summer (bask), but one must focus on the fashion horizon. Let H&M's Fall collection, modeled by Sigrid Ågren, inspire. Silhouettes are experimental - surprised to see some cocooning - there's a definite '80s influence, and layered wooly knits actually make me miss cozying up in the cabin. Colors are serious; black and neutrals are balanced with brown and jewel tones. These angular images, shot by Peter Gehrke, teach keen styling and layering techniques. Ombre also makes a cameo - I kinda love these dip-dyed khakis. I also sense a slight disheveled chic Burberry vibe. When dissected, there's something for every cuddle bug. See the full Fall lineup.
