Cheap & Chic: Color Your Legs

We've been seeing colored stems for a while now. But it's an opportune time for a refresher. Geri Halliwell, here at her book signing in the UK, shows us how to pull it off successfully. The key is to keep the rest of your outfit monochrome, preferably dark. That way your legs aren't upstaged - and you don't look like Punky Brewster.

It's an easy and inexpensive way to incorporate color into your Fall wardrobe. Take a cue from Geri - wear a short black skirt, a sleek coat, colored tights, and patent pumps. Beret and leather gloves optional, though encouraged!

Based off of the show What NOT To Wear, I'm deeming this edition of How Would YOU Wear It? "How NOT To Wear Colored Tights."

I'm all for colorful tights but Paris killed her beautiful Nanette Lepore dress by pairing it with tacky pink tights. Was she trying to match with the pink carpet?

If I were Paris and standing next to my stylish sister (love the plaid and Chanel shoes, Nicky!), I would have burned those tights. Instead, I'd go bare-legged like little sis. The peep-toe pumps are a bit questionable as well, so I'd ditch those for something more festive.

Fabworthy: French Connection Colored Tights

Colorful tights are nothing new. But you have to be pretty bold to wear them and Halloween doesn't count! Sure, Gossip Girl Blair Waldorf wears black and white tights all the time, but colored tights are a whole different ballgame.

Take these French Connection purple tights, $15. They are the perfect way to liven up a moody Fall ensemble. I recommend pairing them with a heather grey dress.

2010 Paris Fashion Week: Isabel Marant

Isabel Marant - a Fab obsession - opted for more detail, more color, and more leg for Spring. Per usual, I adore everything, minus the camouflage boots. Marant delivered an eclectic chic mix of frilly skirts and dresses, sumptuous tweed, cool prints, girlie ruffles, city shorts, hot hot pink, and sweet turquoise. Railroad denim is redone: teeny short shorts, patchwork miniskirts, and cutoff jeans. Khaki jackets and vests are far from preppy in silky fabrics and utilitarian styles.Pants are either laid-back loose or sexy tight, shown in silky black, Carmen Kass multicolored stripes, hot pink, and cool gray; this pictured pair of laced up black pants are a new classic, totally unique. The mix is emphasized by diverse details: feathered earrings, silver chain necklaces, dark metal bracelets, a mix of belts, and a knockout fringed and studded boot. Are you obsessed with Isabel, too? Preen's Fabric Anemones: Love It or Hate It?

All day I dream of Preen - you know what I mean? But today, after leaving the Preen Spring show, I couldn't shake the fabric anemones the designers used. Overly used. Overall, the collection was awesome - it was more airy than their body-con collections past. Less tight, more light. The colors were spot on: gray and taupe offset by crisp white, chartreuse, and pink sherbet. Fabrics were knotted and twisted in the utmost Preen way; lace patchwork was a new spin, a black iridescent fabric was sci-fi sassy. But in an attempt to be more textural, the designers doused skirts, dresses, and shoulders in these scrunchy fabric anemones. Sometimes it was cool, sometimes it was unflattering. Admire the fresh Preen shoes for a sec, then pray tell: do you love or hate the fabric anemones?

Fashion Week Quickie: Rebecca Taylor's Sweet City Girl

New York Fashion Week kicks off tomorrow and yours truly will be leaving on a jet plane, heading into the fashion frazzle. But if the Spring collections are as pretty as Rebecca Tayor's promises to be, it's shouldn't be too fretful.

For Spring, the Fab fave designer is inspired by "urban femininity." Expect to see skyscraper-printed sandals and architectural stretch dresses softened by corseted bustiers and flippy, pull-on printed skirts. Tiny leather skirts, strong shoulders, and a tight-waisted silhouette modernize the collection. Always keen on color, big-apple reds, shocking pinks, electric blues, and retro jades contrast with desert tans and soft, peachy oranges. Sounds delicious.

2009 Fall Couture: Chanel

As an ode to simple elegance, Karl kept his Chanel Fall couture collection long and lean with sophisticated strapless gowns, classic suiting, and highly embellished frocks. The designer's play on peek-a-boo with an abundance of mesh, lace tights, and high/low hemlines shows off legs in a slightly naughty manner. Sequins and beading also made an appearance in the form of glittering dresses, which were reminiscent of the '80s and '90s. For color, Karl kept it simple playing with gorgeous jewel tones and noir. While this ivory and black tiered dress does not blow me away, it's still beautiful. Thoughts?

Fab Finding Follow-Up: Aspen Food & Wine Classic

YumSugar's heading to a three-day extravaganza at the Aspen Food & Wine Classic this week and needed our fashion expertise. She'll be attending oodles of foodie soirees, so I asked you to come up with something beautiful and unique. She had two rules: nothing tight and nothing white - what happens if something spills? Smart. Dresses are nice, but I wanted you to feel free to play around with skirts and cute tops. The weatherman also predicted a chance of rain, so a cool jacket was required.
