If you ask me, corduroy is totally underrated. Not only is it sturdy –– and surprisingly comfortable –– but it comes in about a million colors, and the vertical lines are super flattering. Eccentric San Francisco company Cordarounds specializes in horizontal corduroy pants, though it also dabbles in such other eclectic wear as skirtarounds and reversible smoking jackets. You can buy any of these items online here. However, if you're more interested in how you can incorporate corduroy into your home, you're in luck, because I've found some fun corduroy items for your casa as well.

Due to its durability, corduroy is a great choice for home decor. While the origin of corduroy is obscure at best, its production can be traced to the East Lancashire and West Yorkshire districts of England. Along with fabrics such as moleskin and velveteen, corduroy belongs to the fustian family of fabrics, which describes fabrics made of a strong, durable woven cloth with a linen warp and cotton weft.

It may be hard to believe but the famous little bear Corduroy is turning 40 years old! Don Freeman's tale ($15) of a stuffed teddy feeling ashamed about his lack of buttons is a classic that touches the hearts of adults and children. Adored and wanted by a patient girl, her mother convinces her to leave without the doll. Worried about his lack of buttons, the furry bear spends the night in the department store where he finds himself in a bit of trouble. When the sun rises again, both Corduroy and the little girl are happily reunited - faults and all.

Teaching your tots about patience, imperfection and obedience, this text, no matter the main character's age, will never get old. Celebrate the green overall adorned bear with a special 40th year edition Russ Corduroy that reads the story aloud to your child.

Inspired by the idea of "handsome femininity," Richard Chai showed a Fall collection that was simultaneously simple, yet statement-making. “I didn’t want to do anything that was tricky,” Chai told The New York Times. “I didn’t want to create looks that were just for the show. I wanted it to be approachable and believable, but also be really aspirational. At the end of the day, it’s pieces that I want people to wear.” Chai's boy-meets-girl vision was interpreted into gorgeous slim-fit striped trousers, structured oversized blazers and coats, cozy knits, blanket-stripe coats, and moody florals. The latter was cut into diaphanous sheer skirts, corduroy pants, and jackets, adding a feminine streak to his city-slicker style. Furthermore, his outerwear was something to contend with; Chai's selection of oversized structured jackets and coats were perfectly tailored and ideal for topping off just about any Fall look.
