The cut off short has gotten a mini makeover. Thanks to these Elizabeth and James Suspender Cut Off Shorts ($275), we can stand out from the rest of the cut off shorts-wearing population. But I must ask the burning question: Why spend this much when you can just clip some of your dad's suspenders on to some good old jean shorts?

I much prefer walking around Bloomie's than perusing its online site, but I always make an exception for a sale. Its sale section currently houses designer clothing and accessories from 25 to 40 percent off. I can roll with that.

Who donned the buzz cut first: Rihanna or model Tasha Tilberg? My vote's on Tasha, but while we sit and contemplate life's little wonders, let's dissect Alexander Wang's Fall '09 look book. First off, I'm loving how Tasha's new 'do complements her bird-like posing and crazy facial expressions.

Shrug
A cropped, cardigan-like garment with short or long sleeves, typically knitted. It usually covers less of the body than a vest would, but it is more tailored than a shawl. Some shrugs are tied together just below the bustline, while some are cut off at the sides, making them nothing more than a pair of sleeves joined at the back.
