Designer Spotlight: Susan Woo

Susan Woo is new in fashion town so let's welcome her. The designer received her BS in fashion design and business, then put her degree to practice at Louis Vuitton, Derek Lam, and Chanel. Not bad. Because Woo has major love for fashion and the environment, her entire Fall collection is made from 100 percent all-natural and sustainable fabrics - organic wool, cottons, and cashmeres. Yet another example of eco being chic. Both day and evening options range from $345 to $1,250 and are currently available at H Lorenzo and Kaight in NYC.

Angela Lindvall Reveals Her Organic Tree Shadows

Beauty and eco-prowess, now that's what I call a model citizen. Model Angela Lindvall has been living the green life, and now we can live in her efforts. She teamed up with yoox.com’s environmentally sustainable project YOOXYGEN and created a limited edition 100 percent organic cotton EDUN tee. Lindvall’s design is derived from her vision of the environment: “My shirt was created from the shadows of trees. Our shadow side is what sometimes pushes us to grow.” Starting June 30, check out yoox's "ever.green" collections of eco-friendly tees covering themes of design, music, and fashion for both men and women, designed by celebrities. A percentage of proceeds are being donated to Green Cross International, an environmental non-governmental organization.

Yigal Azrouel's Charitable eBay Auction

I don't know what it is about Yigal Azrouel. I have always coveted his creations; they're so effortless, worldly, and feminine. To add to the designers splendor, he has launched a charity eBay store selling women and men's Summer pieces for way below retail prices. What's more, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC). Starting today at 7PST and through June 19, bid on wonderfully draped dresses, colorful separates, and cool denim. If you want a small piece of the action, Yigal designed an exclusive eco-friendly $35 tee, proceeds also benefiting the NRDC.

Stewart + Brown has everything a budding stylista needs to kick start her Spring wardrobe: feminine shorts, flirty crochet frocks, and fantastic colors. And guess what? It's all eco-friendly! See, it doesn't have to be Earth Day for designers Karen Stewart and Howard Brown to change their ways. Since 2002, the two have been creating an undeniably cunning collection of clothes without damaging the Earth. Cool. Gucci Family Goes Stylishly Green

Earth Day has passed but designers are showing no signs of slowing down their eco initiatives. Next up to show its support for Mother Earth is Gucci Group, who have enlisted brands - such as Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, and Bottega Veneta - to design limited-edition, sustainable products.

This eco initiative promotes the release of the environmentally conscious film, Home, which debuts June 5 on World Environment Day. Alexander McQueen's trippy earth skull design (left) will be printed on an organic cotton scarf to be sold in stores and online starting in June. Other eco endeavors include Gucci’s Frida Giannini and Yves Saint Laurent’s Stefano Pilati who design tees; Bottega Veneta will create a tote; and Sergio Rossi will design an eco pump made out of eco-sensitive materials. Proceeds from the sale will be donated to Goodplanet.org, an environmental-protection charity.

Stella McCartney's Juicy Fruits of the Week

Each of Stella's Eco-friendly panties come with a stitched fruit du jour - Monday is a watermelon, Tuesday is a strawberry, Wednesday is a cherry; you get the gist. My mother always told me a fruit a day takes the allergies away . . .

Earth Day is not over yet. . . . As you know, I have been following the green scene for some time and have opinions about who the best eco-friendly designers are. Of course, SF-loving Stella McCartney tops my list, as does the Loomstate for Target collection. Both deliver goods that are earth-friendly and super stylin'. Fab Flash: Louis Vuitton Donates to Earth Day

Luxury brand Louis Vuitton is showing off its green side on Earth Day by donating 15 percent of all US online sales to The Climate Project. "Over the past few years Louis Vuitton has voluntarily made efforts to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment. In addition we are proud to be able to support The Climate Project in its inspiring quest to raise awareness of the climate crisis," said President of Louis Vuitton North America, Daniel Lalonde. This donation is part of the brand's continued relationship with The Climate Project, which started back in 2007 with the Core Values campaign featuring Francis and Sofia Coppola. Clap, clap LV!
