Trend Alert: The Bag Bazaar

All this time I've been trying to focus on acquiring classic handbags for my collection. But after visiting the bag bazaar I am drawn to the colors, prints and funkiness of the newest crop of bags. I still think having an everyday Prada or a coveted Chanel is a Fab idea, but so is mixing it up with an interesting tote that causes your pupils to dilate upon first look. With all the fresh options for Spring, get lost at the bag bazaar.

Look of the Day: Jumping For Jodhpurs

Mkoesnadi is jumping for jodhpurs! Inspired by Balenciaga's epic Fall '07 collection, she pieced together a smashing, ethnic-inspired ensemble. Her jodhpurs aren't overly baggy and I like how the hot pink socks add a vibrant touch. A print scarf, vibrant bangles, and red bag complete her exotic 'fit.

eLUXURY and Fab Play Dress Up: Lady in Lim

Today, I attended Phillip Lim . . . wearing Phillip Lim. Not only was the collection a great one (stay tuned), but I felt confident in my ladylike Lim ensemble.

Throughout the day I received compliments on the top - one from a sweet girl I shared a taxi with who reads Fab! - and the 3.1 Phillip Lim Multi-Paneled Skirt, which I absolutely adore. If you're in the market for a versatile voluminous skirt, consider this one.

If you like python prints and a pointy toe, these Loeffler Randall Embossed Snakeskin Patent Pumps are a great work shoe with a very fair heel; I was able to walk all day in them. I piled on some red and gold ethnic jewelry for some flavor, and the plum suede bag makes the look more laid-back, and not too prim.

Kate was looking bikinilicous on the beach with her beau. Her Diane von Furstenberg bandeau bikini is unavailable online, but if you dig the zigzag print, here it is in string bikini version (contact DVF if you must have Kate's). I'm a fan of wearing rugged jewelry beachside, so Kate's leather bracelets and ethnic necklace add to her Summer style. A black linen dress works for any occasion and her Chloe Paraty bag withstands the sand.

This Week's Fab Favorite: Blake Lively

Try to stop staring at Blake's legs and focus on her teal Vena Cava Resort zigzag print jumper, her black Miu Miu bowler, and Gemma Redux statement necklace. Blake has been the best dressed of all her co-stars this week during her promotions for Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2; she was also Celebrity Styled in a chic jean outfit. But I have to say all four of the young ladies have been looking smashing. And remember, fellow sister Alexis Bledel got last week's vote.But Blake is just so foxy. I'm adding this adorable sophisticated romper to my wish list. Her necklace brings the ethnic feel home. Black patent pumps polish off any look and also help boost one's stems. Her oversized Miu Miu is an It bag in the making. But the one accessory that always melts my heart with this girl is her beaming smile. Happy girl, happy outfit.

2009 Cruise: Oscar de la Renta

If anyone knows how to make resort as luxurious as can be it's Oscar de la Renta. In a kaleidoscope of colors, there were enough day dresses, crisp separates, grownup trousers, and ball gowns to keep the Upper East Side content for a while. There was a bit of volume play with sleeves as well as super puff, super fabulous, ball gowns. Oscar continues to preach the sassy one-shoulder style. Bags were structured and jewelry was ethnic and nature inspired. Oscar's vivid prints always win me over as well as his strategic - never overdone - placement of bows. Add to that lace and ruching and you have a seamless paean to the cruise ~~Gods~~ Goddesses.

Jimmy Choo Keeya Printed Tote Bag: Love It or Hate It?
