J Brand Designs David Bowie-Inspired Denim

J Brand and LA designer Henry Duarte are teaming up to bring you some rockin' denim. Three low-rise skinny jeans, due out in December, are inspired by David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust album. Cool! The jeans, retailing for $250, have details such as exposed zippers, topstitching, and Duarte's signature lace-up front. "I wanted to combine my signature details with the simplicity that J Brand is known for, while keeping the jeans wearable and affordable," said Duarte. Sounds good, can't wait to see them live.

The exposed-zipper craze is still going strong, as exemplified by chicandcool. Her dress reminds me of the Phillip Lim recycled zipper dress Kate Bosworth wore. Her red clutch and patent pumps up the sassy factor. Simple yet snazzy. Zip it . . . zip it real good!

Geren Ford's Intimate Side

Did you know Geren Ford started off as a lingerie line? Interesting. However, designer Geren Lockhart quickly moved over to sportswear when people started wearing her innerwear as outerwear. Now that her ready-to-wear line is running smoothly, Geren is going back to her roots with the relaunch of intimates. Geren's vintage-inspired Holiday collection, wholesaling between $34 to $116, includes silk camisoles, slips, panties, and pajama pants in black, white, and jewel tones. Embellishments such as ruffles, tucks, pleats, snaps, and exposed zippers will add special touches. The collection hits stores in October. Sweet.

Are you all ready for another Target GO International collection? Um, always! The photos for Richard Chai for Target have been released and there's more than a few goodies to be had. Exposed zippers are still going strong and there's a good balance between bright and muted colors. There's a nice fusion of feminine and androgynous pieces. Large floral designs will appeal to many, while long vests will excite the menswear-inspired trend followers. My eyes are on the floral blouse, black zipper skirt, and long gray vest. How about you? We have so much to look forward to this Spring. With its Spring/Summer '08 collection, H&M has given us yet another reason to anticipate the warmer season.

The chain retailer's racks will be overflowing with bold-colored outerwear, fitted dresses, sportswear themes, exposed zippers, ruffles, '70s tunics, wide-leg jeans, and knit dresses. Oh, and it looks like global chic is here to stay. I have dibs on the red trapeze coat and the blue fitted dress. Which items catch your eye?
