Fab fave Diane von Furstenberg will be adding another specialty to her fashionable portfolio: eyewear. “Sunglasses are all about two things - glamour and protection,” said von Furstenberg. “They make me feel glamorous and they protect me from dust and the sun. And prescription glasses are incredibly important for women. It is a true friend, something very close to you that you need to see or to read, something you depend on. It’s more than an accessory, it’s a necessity.”

Diane's eyewear collection, set to retail between $150 to $175, is described as retro-inspired with modern shapes. Interested? Optical illusions hit stores in January.

Anja Rubik looks absolutely exquisite in the Chanel '08 Spring/Summer eyewear ad campaign. Keeping the photoshoot classy and timeless, Lagerfeld stuck to simple black and white photography with Anja in the forefront and palm trees swaying in the background. It evokes old school Florida Keys and I kind of like it. Do you agree?

Simply Fab: Jonathan Adler 'Specs' Needlepoint Cases

I was never fond of needlepoint; but I am always fond of anything the pioneer of Palm Peach kitsch Jonathan Adler does. These Jonathan Adler needlepoint eyeglass cases, $38, are fabulous. They come in other styles too, but this one is an ode to another thing I'm fond of: the theatrical rock band KISS. A crafty gift for yourself or others, these cases put needlepoint back on the cool map.

American Apparel does not currently produce its own line of sunglasses, but it does harbor a fun collection of vintage sunglasses and eyeglasses. Perusing the frames, these Sun Vogue 14 Sunglasses ($40) stuck out as a pair that would really help me walk all over that sunshine in style.
