This past weekend, while showing his Fall couture show, Valentino celebrated his 45th anniversary in the fashion biz - quite the accomplishment...bravo!
It all started in 1961, when Valentino Garavani dedicated five evening gowns to Jackie Kennedy, and she become a loyal client - she wore Valentino when she mourned President Kennedy, and she wore Valentino when she married Aristotle Onassis.
But in his 45 years of fashion, Jackie O hasn't been the only woman wearing Valentino for an important event in her life: Julia Roberts, Sophia Loren, Jane Fonda, and Hilary Swank have all accepted Oscars in Valentino dresses.

This week, the House of Dior celebrated their 60th year of haute couture - sixty years since Christian Dior showed his first couture collection of sharp-shouldered suits with knee-length skirts on February 12, 1947.

We've seen them throughout history - from Janet Leigh in 'Bye Bye Birdie' to Sigourney Weaver's eerie exposé scene in 'Alien' to Calvin Klein's infamous underwear ads.
