Fur, both real and faux, returned for Fall, and one of the most interesting incarnations of the furry stuff was the debut of the gorilla arm. By that, we mean the seriously, thickly fur-covered sleeves of coats. Rag & Bone showed it in their futuristic Scottish ski bum, Giles did it under a black corset, and Peter Som took it to the trench. It's certainly a bold look, but one that could be hard to pull off. For a lesson in cozy-chic layering, I'm not looking any further than Fab reader a r i - she hit the streets in a to-die-for layered ensemble that I'm feeling compelled to copy. She wore black leggings, an oversize striped sweater, and a faux-fur stole, then added a pair of studded open-toe heels with casual gray socks. Her gobs of jewelry and bright orange lipstick are the perfect touch. She totally stole my heart with this look, and I'm truly inspired!

Desire/Acquire: Faux Fur Throw

I bought a faux fur comforter from Pottery Barn about eight years ago - oh I am such a trendsetter! - and it's so gosh darn cozy. Even though in the wintertime, I tend to walk around my apartment wearing the thing like a robe and vehemently refuse to take it off, I am tempted to buy an additional faux fur throw for my living room. The smaller size seems more convenient, practical, and well, less embarrassing. That said, I'm not sure whether I want to shell out $99 for Pottery Barn's current Faux-Fur Throw. So I've been looking for a more affordable alternative, and whadya know? I found a much cheaper option! Want to see it?

When it comes to fur in my house, I prefer to see it on a very alive Fluffy or Fido - not on a fur throw, rug, or pillow. Luckily, there are plenty of pretty faux fur choices.

Throw a faux fur throw on a bed at a ski cabin for a luxe touch, or dress up your sofa with a few faux fur pillows. They definitely add a great touch to a holiday-decorated home. One of my favorite throws is the Inmod Faux Fox Fur Throw ($370) - it's unbelievably luxe looking. There are plenty of other warm, fuzzy options though. See a few of my favorites below.
