Dressing down a fancy top is no easy feat, but Fab reader xoqiqixo makes it look effortless. She took the floral trend to a chic new level with a rosette-covered blouse from American Apparel ($84) and paired it with skinny cargo pants and a cute pair of black ankle boots. Everything is coming up roses –– her look is pretty, polished, and perfect for daytime!

Look of the Day: Mix Master

It's so cool to see how you guys are getting in on the mixing prints trend this Fall! I am loving Fab reader Miss Ife's fresh pairing of leopard and florals. She showed that she's a certified mix master by throwing on a cute black cardigan and lightweight floral scarf, then cuffing her jeans to reveal a pair of totally Fab leopard-print ankle boots. This is one cool combo that I'll be trying soon!

Look of the Day: Sassy Floral Mini

Vanessa 09's adorable sassy floral mini kind of reminds me of Kate Moss' floral mini dress for Topshop. I admire the puff sleeves and the headband worn as a belt. Very innovative and money-saving!

Trend Alert: Wake Up and Smell The Roses!

Spring Peek: Bloomers

Today a Sugar girl received a beautiful bouquet of orange roses with red berries and Stargazer lilies. They inspired me to deliver you this Spring Peek showing you all the big bloomers that graced the runways. Rosettes, big flower prints and fabric corsages popped on garments adding volume and sweetness. Bloomers even showed up as show garnish: Yves Saint Laurent had thousands of violets sewn onto the floor of his runway - tripping up the models, literally. This Spring, say it with flowers. I think Alexander McQueen, shown here, screamed it with flowers!

Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2012

The Marc by Marc Jacobs collection was all about the schoolgirl gone grunge. Loose trapeze-like dresses and combat boots melded with pleated skirts and pretty bouclé coats resulting in a mashup of feminine cool tinged with military touches. The main focus were full-skirted dresses made in floral prints, metallic finishes, plaid, velvet, and sheer mesh. Outerwear featured a standout fur collared anorak and plenty of ladylike coats. We were especially smitten with the polished textural coats, nipped in at the waist with leather belts. For accessories, Jacobs highlighted a range of structured satchels, military caps, and punkish lace-up boots. Read more highlights below, then see the complete collection in the slideshow.

Tory Burch Fall 2012

Tory Burch's Fall collection was inspired by "the idea of a prim girl who's under the spell of the wrong kind of guy." The results? An array of prim and polished looks injected with just the right amount of librarian girl sexiness. Sultry lace dresses showcased embellished collars, peplum tops were adorned with sequins, and pencil skirts were decorated with frilly hemlines. Burch also gave new life to tweed and tartan; a pair of knockout leather tweed-printed pants were the highlight of the show. Meanwhile, a cozy selection of bouclé jackets and angora sweaters provided texture and warmth. For accessories, the designer featured patent spectator shoes and a range of heavily embellished chain bags and floral clutches. More details below.

J.Crew Fall 2012

J.Crew's packed Fall 2012 presentation showed a bevy of vibrant structured coats, eye-catching knitwear, and a refreshing mix of printed trousers. Almost every look has a sporty twist to it - we especially loved the casual pullovers made in silk floral prints, brushed fleece tops, and what has now become the brand's signature, daytime-appropriate sequins. Other standout pieces included a cozy two-toned tweed coat, leather trimmed jackets, and pajama-inspired pants. For accessories, VP of women's design Tom Mora provided major eye candy in the way of pastel candy-colored Manolo Blahnik pumps, Patricia Underwood hats, sleek snake-print bags, and textured clutches. Chris Benz Fall 2012

Chris Benz described his retro collection “like a little kid watching your mom getting ready for a holiday party.” For Fall, the designer took a trip to the '50s and '60s with a festive array of sequins, lamé, and floral prints complete with throwback bouffants. Vibrant-hued trousers and cropped jackets were fresh and fun, while voluminous tulle skirts and metallic dresses provided a quirky twist to party dressing. More details below.
