No matter the state of the economy, it never hurts to invest in items that give more bang for your buck. I'm talking about things that are convertible, reversible, and that can be styled in many different ways. Are your ears perked? Good because I did some searching and found 14 items that are way worth your money. The most expensive item, and my favorite, is this Foley + Corinna Reversible Mid City Tote ($485). I can wear it on the suede side when I'm feeling posh and the leather side when I'm craving punk.

As you know, I am an optimist. Let's not dwell on August being Summer's last month. Instead, let's revel in it. My month is already packed with concerts, house parties, pool dates, weekend adventures, and active fun. I have begun thinking about my Fall wardrobe, therefore transitional pieces are top of mind. This geo print Mara Hoffman dress is the perfect perky purchase - I would totally wear it with tights and layers come Fall. It's all about optimism 'round here party people.

Belts are are easily forgettable - most outfits are fine without one - but I'm here to remind you of their importance. It's happened many times where, right before leaving the house, I throw on even the skinniest belt and it completely rejuvenates my look. How would I make those skirts that are too big on me paperbag-style without my handy wraparound belt? Or, look how this grommet belt instantly adds punky flavor to the hot pink dress. Free People has just come out with some hip new carrying cases for your iPod Touch and/or iPhone. These multi-colored embroidered Checker Board Holders are sure to protect your beloved gadgets while offering a uniqueness other cases seem to lack.

If you're not loving this pattern, but dig Free People's designs, check out the Encrusted Ribbons case - it's the same size (4 1/2" long x 3 1/4" wide) and a bit cheaper, this one is priced at $28, whereas the Encrusted Ribbons case only costs $24. I think what excites me the most about these cases is the fact that they actually fit an iPhone - finally!

I'm a fan of Free People's clothes with youthful colors and prints, so I was excited to learn the company also makes laptop sleeves.

The Sleeping Bag Laptop Cozy, $58, may seem like a silly idea given how hot most laptops get, but the material offers a unique look and trendy take on laptop transportation and is surprisingly breathable.

The best part is the cases are made from vintage sleeping bags, so they are even more green than their color.

The small size fits a 13-inch laptop, medium a 15-inch laptop and the large fits a 17-inch laptop.

Encrusted Ribbons iPod Holder by Free People

I don't know if it's the arts and crafty side coming out of me, but I love this new encrusted ribbons iPod holder by Free People! Remember the skillfully crafted home made iPod case? The one which I still have yet to attempt to make?! This case somewhat reminds me of that one, yet this one comes with beautiful gingham and ribbon trims and beaded embellishments all throughout for added shimmer. The design pattern is called chambray and it also comes with a clip for attaching to bags or clothes. Each case fits the standard sized iPod, as it measures 4 1/2" long x 3 1/4" wide. Priced at $24.
