Whoa, when did J.Crew get so fancy schmancy on us? These Antonia Glitteri T-Strap Heels, $225, are a modern fit for Cinderella. They also have a bit of The Great Gatsby in them because of the t-strap. What makes them super fabworthy is that they're glitzy without being over-the-top; and that's really hard to achieve when glitter is involved.

I wish I knew about these before going to a recent banquet. They would have definitely matched my Catherine Malandrino off-white dress. Oh well...next time!

Here is my ode to The Great Gatsby. Fashion is experiencing a throwback to the times of art deco, pleats, beading, speak-easies, and the Belle Epoque. Legendary designer Paul Poiret has been referenced and you can see his dropped hemline and flapper hats in a major way in the Proenza Schouler Fall 2007 collection. After all the 70s and 80s we've been seeing on the runway these seem fresh and a step in a new fashion direction - just don't take away my booze!

Runway shows and magazines are a great source for outfit inspiration, but every now and again, you find ideas from something unexpected. Personally, I like to pair my LDDs with metallic flats, but you can also dress them up with sleek heels, like AnnaLynne McCord, for an extra sexy appeal. This look is perfect for rooftop parties, pool parties, casual dinners, and everything else Summer. In fact, I think I'll slip into my Marc Jacobs denim corset dress for a dinner date tonight. Queen of the red carpet, Diane Kruger, continues to inspire. Of all the New Year's parties that went down, this looks like the most Fab one. Soho Grand's "Great Gatsby" was the place to be - beads, bubbly and babes for everyone! Who doesn't like to play dress up with the decades once in a while. You know I'm game. And so is Diane.

Milan Fashion Week, Spring 2008: Roberto Cavalli

A few feather-clad pieces in this Spring collection were very Roberto Cavalli, but surprisingly, the majority were not. I'm glad to see Cavalli expanding his repertoire to include sweet gals, not just wild things. For the latter, the feather trench coats, vests and pants will satiate their sassy appetite. As for the more demure, they will love all the floral details that Cavalli plastered on his floor-length gowns, pant suits and boho button-down dresses. The color palette of this collection was muted: lilacs, whites, purples, greens, peaches. The only bright hues were from the large floral patterns on the evening gowns.

Old Hollywood glamazons had a place in this collection, too. A few flapper-esque and metallic dresses were seen and very were reminiscent of The Great Gatsby.

Fab Flash: "Poiret: King of Fashion" at the Met in NYC

Two of the most influential people in fashion today, Anna Wintour and Balenciaga designer, Nicolas Ghesquière, along with a whole bunch of A-List celebs, gathered at the Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute to Celebrate Paul Poiret last night. Everybody who is anybody attended the Gala and they were dressed to impress.

Paul Poiret was a fashion pioneer who freed women of corsetry and adopted shocking colors and exotic references of the Ballets Russes to the haute couture. The height of his career was pre-World War I France when he was dubbed the undisputed "King of Fashion." As we know fashion is cyclic, so not only are we going to be seeing more of his influence on the runways but his pieces are now official works of art.

A lot of you showed interest in fashion's emerging Great Gatsby direction so if you happen to be in NYC between May 9 – August 5 be sure to check out this exhibit!
