The word gingham is actually an appropriation of the Malay word genggang, meaning striped. Indeed, the first ginghams were actually a striped fabric, although now it is exclusively plaid or checked in pattern. It looks like Victoria Beckham is sticking to her promise to dress baby Harper like a little girl! Back in July, the designer and then expectant mama told WWD, "I love the French clothes for little girls. I like little girls to look like little girls." Over the past week, Victoria has brought the lil one along on a few public outings, and each time the tot has been dressed in traditional bubbles and bloomers. Is it just me or are the stylish mommies out and about? Check out Michelle Williams and her little one Matilda. The adorable duo were spotted taking a leisurely stroll on the streets of Brooklyn. Motherhood certainly hasn't affected Michelle's casually cool style. The actress is nonchalant in her black and white gingham shirt and dark denim shorts. Classic white kicks are the perfect choice for all that walking, and of course, her Ray-Ban Wayfarers top off the look. Simple, chic, and cute. On another note, that green drink looks yummy!
