Whoa, when did J.Crew get so fancy schmancy on us? These Antonia Glitteri T-Strap Heels, $225, are a modern fit for Cinderella. They also have a bit of The Great Gatsby in them because of the t-strap. What makes them super fabworthy is that they're glitzy without being over-the-top; and that's really hard to achieve when glitter is involved.

I wish I knew about these before going to a recent banquet. They would have definitely matched my Catherine Malandrino off-white dress. Oh well...next time!

Valentino Fall 2012

If you want real romance, look no further than Valentino's Fall 2012 collection. Creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli designed an impeccably gorgeous lineup of gowns, jumpsuits, and coats that - for lack of something less cliché to say - swept us off our feet. Picking up right where it left off after Spring '12, Valentino honed in on the ultrafeminine details, neutral color palette aside. Floor-skimming dresses were updated with panels of refined leather, sheer Victorian lace bodices and sleeves, and some were even artfully covered in glitter. Whether the pieces were endowed with rich tapestry embroidery, metallic floral embellishments, or a sweet collar bow tie, it all worked towards one well-defined theme of pretty elegance. Of course, no Valentino collection is complete without its signature red creations, and the Fall offerings didn't disappoint. We were particularly enamored with the cherry-hue frock adorned with scalloped edges and paired with matching red ankle-strap sandals. For more details, just keep reading.

As soon as those '50s hotrod stilettos and colorful boxy leather handbags hit Prada's spring 2012 runway you could fairly see the wait lists forming, visualize them getting scuffed in the gravel of the Tuileries and photographed by every street style blogger. Even the generally unamused Cathy Horyn was tickled by them, and suggested wearing the "purely silly" heels on your next Match.com date. She praised the collection for its "machismo" against a sea of tired '20s frocks.

So here are all of Prada's delightfully quirky, insanely awesome, spring shoes and accessories, up close and personal. It's nice to appreciate the details–the brake lights and flames leaping off of the metal stiletto heels or the clutches with fender clasps–even if it's from your computer screen and not your own closet. These oughta give those now ubiquitous Miu Miu glitter booties a run for their money.
