Couture Fashion Week: Atelier Versace

Nothing could kick-start Couture Fashion Week quite like Atelier Versace's confident return to the ring after an eight-year hiatus. Donatella Versace presented the label's couture collection for the first time since 2004, marking its resurrection in signature brights and distinctly sexy silhouettes. All the elements we've come to rely on from a Versace collection were present - curve-hugging bodices, brilliant statement color, leg-revealing hemlines - and like any good couture collection, there, too, was the element of surprise. The standout, but limited, color palette verged between blinding brights, creamy grays, neutrals, and a splash of gold. We're treated to all-out sultry silhouettes, then checked with futuristic-feeling detail. Laser cuts and lace feel at once delicate and fierce, like the glamorous gold heels made tougher with buckled shin guards. The collection was sexy, but not without substance - just the way we like our leading ladies who will wear it.

Trends: Neoprene brights, corsets, lace, peplum.
Colors: Citrus hues - orange, green, yellow; nude, gray, gold.
Key Look: The creamy gray lace-paneled gown with gold-collared halter neckline.
Accessories: Heels and boots with shin guards buckled up over the calf.
Who Would Wear It: January Jones, Jessica Alba, red carpet queens who crave drama and sexy cuts.

Fab reader Dadouchic injected her cold weather ensemble with a blast of green and subtle pinks. She paired her teal trousers with a sweet blush-hued camisole and a camel-colored blazer. For an extra dose of pastel vibrancy, she cuffed the tailored sleeves to show off satin pink lining details, added a metallic bangle, and wore an orange wrist-wrap. She wrapped up the look with black round-toe pumps, a dark skinny belt, a bold red lip, and a gold cocktail ring. We love the expert color complementing - it's unexpected, but never overdone.

Look of the Day: Retro Print

Fab reader BrittandWhit donned a fabulously retro black-and-white ensemble for a lazy Sunday afternoon. She paired black opaque tights, black-heeled booties, and an oversized black sleeveless vest with her '70s style zigzag print dress. While we can't get over how much we adore the puffed sleeve detail, we're also loving the sweet silver accent found in her cocktail ring and the sliver of gold in her pendant necklace. To top off her graphic look, she added a black floppy hat for a true Ali MacGraw fashion moment.

Evan Rachel Wood struck a chord earlier in the evening with an emerald Old Hollywood-style Gucci Premiere gown, but for the afterparty scene, the Ides of March actress went for menswear-inspired perfection. Evan Rachel wore a black tuxedo jacket paired with slim black pants; underneath, she opted for a shimmery bronzed asymmetrical top. Her gold boxy clutch, gold rings, grayish purple-tinted nails, and black peep-toe pumps rounded out her sleek look. What do you think?
