There used to be this rule that you couldn't mix your silvers with your golds (particularly pertaining to jewelry), but Katy Perry proves that there's a way to do it right. At yesterday's European premiere for Arthur, Katy mixed her metallics, wearing a silver-toned manicure with golden eye shadow on her lower lash lines and gold rings on her ring finger. The key is to not overdo it on either shade, so that the mismatched metallics play nicely off each other. Anthology magazine's sophomore issue is due out soon and there's a sneak preview live online now to tease us. The feature I'm most excited to read is the tour of the San Diego home of stylist Kelly Lilien of the wildly popular style blog Mrs. Lilien. I absolutely love everything Kelly produces and there's no doubt in my mind that her home is an enchanting place.

From just this glimpse into her home (left), I can already spot some serious creativity. To put her own "Mrs." spin on her 1930s Spanish bungalow, Kelly gilded the wood beams in her living room, and then moved onto the fireplace logs! "The space was screaming for something super special," she explains. "There was a need for a pièce de résistance. Once I realized how magical it was, I kept going." If that's not enchanting, I don't know what is.

Claudia Schiffer arrived at the British Fashion Awards at The Savoy in London last night decked out in an ivory dress that featured a shimmery, draped overlay in a golden bronze. I love the way these two colors play off each other, creating a rich, regal look, and was inspired to find this color combination in the home decor world as well.
