FashionSheSays always amazes me with her Parisian-inspired ensembles. Today, she showed us how to accessorize an all-black ensemble. Her embellished gloves and floral scarf make a sensational statement. However, the pièce de résistance is her hat attack.

Admittedly, this was a haphazard outfit. I knew I wanted to wear one of my favorite LBDs today. The rest was thrown on in a hurried morning frenzy. Walking in the rain to work, I felt like a cross between Winona Ryder's goth character in Beetlejuice and the new quirky character on Gossip Girl. I love my hats, so this $12 bowler from Target is a prized possession.

If you dare to wear a funky hat, then you must meet Bijou Van Ness. She's got what you need as far as cocktail hats and quirky headpieces are concerned. Designer Rehn Dudukgian fuses Hollywood glamour with 20th century European romanticism to create pieces that will make any girl stand out. "I'm sick of the little black dress; I think the little black dress needs to be accompanied by a little something more," she said. I second that motion. China Fashion Week Spring '10 is underway in Beijing, and so far, crazy headpieces rule. They were made of any and all of the following: safety pins, flowers, studs, tulle, feathers, and leather. Would you wear this severe safety-pin arrangement - part of the Aimer National College contest for Women's Wear Design - on your head?! Lady Gaga would. Proceed with caution: headpieces and masks look crazier than they sound.

Trend Alert: The Boyfriend Hat

We're going to borrow another one from the boys. Menswear is no new trend, but boyfriend jeans, blazers, and boyfriend shirts have had their run. Ever notice how men have such wonderful hat options? Liv has. She wore this incognito navy hat whilst frolicking with her son, Milo, in NYC. Clearly, it was windy, but that much more picturesque. She tied her whole navy look together with it. Bad hair days begone thanks to the boyfriend hat.
