Compared to some of her latest red-carpet looks, Jennifer looks a little washed out here. Don't get me wrong, I still think she looks glam in her lace shift dress, but she could have dazzled even more with some colored accessories and brighter makeup. What do you think?

Our friend Hilary here is kind of like Jen Aniston in a way: she has an affinity for wearing simple black dresses to red carpet events. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's definitely occasion-worthy, but it is safe. She leaves me undecided. What do you all think?

Charlize is always a class act. I don't know if it's the green sheen of her Fab Stella McCartney frock or those killer black sandals but she is looking good at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association luncheon in Beverly Hills. I never noticed how pretty her eyes were until now. She looks money, do you agree?

Claire Danes Hits The Globes Press Room to Talk Patriotism and Becoming Carrie on Homeland

Homeland is already having quite a night at the Golden Globes! The show took home best dramatic series, and when the cast stepped back to the press room, the creators revealed a little about what we can expect in season two, saying, "Don’t expect next season to start where this one left off. The Brody-Carrie relationship is going to be front and center. The international aspect of the show, we plan to exploit that and shoot on some fun locations." Just a few minutes later, Claire Danes won for playing Carrie, which brought her back to talk as well. The HFPA member who brought her on stage introduced Claire saying, "We have Claire Danes, who we see here every year.":

On how Homeland has changed her as an actress and an American: Which comes first? It's been a real blessing this role. It's very, very unusual that I get a chance to take a character like this on. So layered, so dynamic. I've never seen a character this layered. It’s a great thrill to be able to explore something that interesting. The quality of writing on this show is spectacular. I’m having a fabulous time with that. I certainly got a work out this season. They asked me to do more than I've ever been asked to do. It was fantastic to develop that flexibility and strength, but it's exhausting. As an American, when I met with people and agents from the CIA, I was really struck by their patriotism. That’s something I’ve taken for granted and I guess I have learned through this story that it's something to take more seriously.

On knowing Homeland would be a hit: One never knows. It’s always a risk whenever you start any project, but I was absolutely riveted by the pilot and I trusted Alex and Howard to be able to sustain that level of writing through this season and seasons into the future. It’s a leap of faith and I’m just so profoundly relieved and more than flattered to think that is has captured the audience's imagination. It has really landed and resonated.

On Homeland changing the way she sees the news: Maybe it has to a certain extent. I think the older I get the greater responsibility I feel about being a citizen and being an American. I pretend to be this person more than anything else. We should all be very grateful that I am not actually in homeland security, since we would not be that secure. Carrie is much better at that than I am.

On researching the character: It was a pretty elaborate process. I like nerding out in that way. I like having a homework assignment of this scale. I delved into a lot of books about the CIA and bipolar disorder. I work with a CIA officer who is very senior and introduced me to people. I happen to have a number of friends who are psychologists, who I talked to about their bipolar clients. I actually went on YouTube, which was a really valuable resource. There is a lot of material. Bipolar people who are up all night and have no one to talk to, talk to the camera, and post it. I gorged on these videos. I tried to extrapolate from that. I have great respect for the illness. It’s no joke.

Several big stars stepped out this afternoon for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's annual luncheon. Leonardo DiCaprio, Taylor Lautner, Gerard Butler, and Mark Wahlberg all took the podium inside the yearly event. The lunch gives the HFPA, the voting body behind the Golden Globe Awards, the opportunity to recognize its officers and raise money for entertainment nonprofits. It wasn't only the men of Hollywood who were on hand for the festivities - Lea Michele, Elizabeth Olsen, and Elisabeth Moss also walked the red carpet. We had a chance to catch up with rising star Elizabeth Olsen, who told us that while it's too early to talk about Very Good Girls, in which she's reportedly starring opposite Dakota Fanning, the two actually know each other outside of work. In fact, the two met when Elizabeth gave Dakota a tour of her North Hollywood high school, where Dakota ended up going. We also chatted with Jessica Chastain, who costars in The Help, about the role. She told us her grandmother was a big fan of the book, so she's planning to bring her along to the premiere next week, and is actually a little nervous to see how she likes the big-screen adaptation! Jennifer Garner Is in Good Spirits to Fly the Friendly Skies

Jennifer Garner caught a flight at the Toronto airport in a red cardigan and landed at LAX in a striped sweater yesterday. She was in Canada for the Toronto International Film Festival, where Jennifer premiered Butter with her costars Ashley Greene, Olivia Wilde, and Alicia Silverstone. She also made time to party during her stay up north, and she stopped by The Weinstein Company's soiree and the InStyle and HFPA bash. The pregnant actress got the fun started even before TIFF when she hit the red carpet for the Pink Party in LA over the weekend. Now that she's heading home, though, she'll be able to get back into her routine with her adorable daughters, Violet and Seraphina, while her husband, Ben Affleck, continues working on Argo.

Jennifer Garner and Her Sparkly Butter Girls Reunite For an Exciting TIFF Evening

Jennifer Garner is making the most of her time in Toronto, and last night was all about her new film Butter, which had its big TIFF premiere. Pregnant Garner arrived in Canada on Monday, and she headed to The Weinstein Company's soiree that evening before joining up with her costars for a full Tuesday of press. Jennifer, Ashley Greene, Olivia Wilde, Alicia Silverstone, and their young castmate Yara Shahidi mingled at a cocktail party ahead of their red carpet premiere. As for an afterparty, the ladies hit up the InStyle/HFPA bash late night. Butter debuted to mixed reviews, so it's reportedly undergoing some editing before it hits theaters. The movie is still making headlines, though, since Harvey Weinstein formally invited Michele Bachmann to the Iowa premiere of the satirical comedy, which takes unsubtle jabs at the Tea Party movement.

Jennifer, Adam, Chace, and Jessica Party InStyle Late Night at TIFF

A glowing and energetic Jennifer Garner went straight from her TIFF Butter premiere to the InStyle and HFPA bash at the Windsor Arms hotel in Toronto last night. The Tommy Hilfiger-sponsored party started late, but the stars were still eager to step inside and enjoy the festivities. Jennifer was joined by her Butter costars including Olivia Wilde and Ashley Greene, who could also celebrate the hugely hyped new Breaking Dawn trailer that debuted yesterday afternoon. Cute Adam Brody and Chace Crawford caught up inside the event after their red carpet debuts of Damsels in Distress and Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding, respectively. Anna Kendrick spent her day doing press for 50/50, during which she gushed to us about working with a few handsome costars recently - both Chace and Jake Gyllenhaal!

Jessica Chastain has been making the rounds while at TIFF, and this time she let loose with Katie Couric and Kathy Griffin. Jessica was in a black dress she actually purchased while in Toronto. Kathy stopped to chat on her way in and spoke to us about appearing on her friend Anderson Cooper's new talk show this week. On the episode Kathy stopped by Anderson's place, and last night she reciprocated with an invitation saying, "Anderson can come to my house. He's afraid to, but he can. I have a chef. He will be fed like he's never been fed before. I like to call him chubby. He will be well fed and well loved."

Blake Lively Keeps the Gossip Going in LA

Blake Lively showed off her famous legs in a short skirt filming Gossip Girl in LA on Friday. The fashionable starlet sported an OdlR ring and earrings to complete the look. Blake and her costars Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick are shooting in California at the moment so it looks like Serena's move out west at the end of last season draws a few of her Upper East Sider friends. The timing is convenient for Blake, who is also shooting her Oliver Stone movie Savages in LA. Her boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio had his own obligations in the city this week since he was honored at the star-studded HFPA luncheon on Thursday. His film J. Edgar just got a November release date, which means it's in prime placement for award season and perhaps he'll have Blake on his arm as he hits the red carpets along the way.
