Anna Dello Russo Will Be Designing an Accessory Collection For H&M

H&M usually enlists designers for its collaboration collections, but this time the retailer is teaming with a fashion editor, Anna Dello Russo, to create a line of accessories. "This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion, and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead this project," said Dello Russo, editor of Vogue Japan. "I wanted to create precious accessories that are impossible to find. As a stylist, I know accessorization is essential; it is the personal touch in any outfit. With these pieces, everybody can have fun, and turn an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day." The collection, dropping in stores Oct. 4, stands true to Anna Dello Russo's eccentric fashion flair, featuring bold turquoise and gold cuff bracelets, embellished sunglasses, shoes, and statement clutches. H&M is giving its eco-friendly Conscious Collection a red-carpet spin this year. In addition to its regular fare of cute Summer dresses and floral prints, H&M is introducing an Exclusive Glamour Conscious collection, focusing on dressier party looks made out of sustainable materials like organic cotton, hemp, and recycled polyester. We couldn't be more excited, and so far, the collection has garnered quite a celebrity following: Amanda Seyfried was spotted in the collection's bright blue short suit at the In Time premiere in London, Michelle Williams opted for a custom two-tone gown at the BAFTAs, Viola Davis donned a hot pink two-piece number, while Kristin Davis wore a customized version of H&M's organic cotton embroidered dress at a Vanity Fair party in LA. H&M Confirms a New Retail Chain in the Works

There's going to be more reason to love H&M soon. Today, the retailer just confirmed that it will be launching a new retail chain in 2013. "We have many different projects in progress and already next year we will be launching a completely new store chain. Like COS [a higher-end line also owned by Hennes & Mauritz AB], which today is very successful with good profitability, the new chain of stores will be independent and complement the other offerings from the group," said H&M CEO Karl-Johan Persson. Details are to be determined but there have been rumblings that the new clothing line will fall in the luxury category. We love H&M's affordable wares, but a new, higher-end line sounds just as exciting. What are your thoughts?

For the warm weather ahead, H&M is supplying us with colorful sequined dresses, statement pants, and metallic knits. Meanwhile, streamlined trench coats and tailored jackets temper the bright colors. The Marni for H&M line doesn't hit stores until March, but we have something that might satiate your hunger. Check out the gorgeous video commercial shot in Marrakech and directed by Sofia Coppola, starring British beauty, Imogen Poots. “I always thought [Marni] made interesting fashion and that the prints were always unusual, and they really have their own look. It doesn’t look like anything else,” said Coppola. The video shows an array of the collection we haven't seen before, including dresses made in Marni's signature dotted prints, along with metallic floral pants and tops. Just when we think H&M has hit the pinnacle of fashion collaborations, the brand tops itself with yet another amazing Italian team-up. Fresh on the heels of its successful collaboration with Versace, H&M has announced that it will team up with Marni on a collection that will launch on March 8 at select stores and online. The collection will feature womenswear - think printed full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knits - menswear, shoes, bags, and accessories. "I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favourite pieces in signature fabrics and prints," said Castiglioni. "As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colors, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic and adding sporty utilitarian elements."
