The dressy hood was a recurring theme during New York Fashion Week. Ralph Lauren did a luxuriously beaded hood with eveningwear, Halston added a hood to a slinky '70s dress, Suno put a sporty silk version on its models, and Mara Hoffman put a hood on a slinky, sexy, backless jersey dress. What's your opinion on this hooded movement? Is it cool, or should it stay on the runway?

Urban Outfitters Faux Fur Hood: Love It or Hate It?

It's been really cold here in SF. The chill factor is high and I can't seem to keep myself warm at night. I'm wondering if I should get this Urban Outfitters Faux Fur Hood ($48) just to stay warm. This hoodie looks cozy but the bulky style is questionable. Do you love it or hate it?

LA Fashion Week Trend Alert: Little Red Riding Hood

Randomly, Little Red Riding Hood made an appearance on the catwalks of LA Fashion Week. Except, the brave little girl came in the form of tall, beanpole models showing off a Fall 2008 trend: hoods. Striped cardigans had hoods at the Whitley Kros show (left); coats at the Alexis Lamontagna collection came hooded (right); and one of Octavio Carlin's silk dresses even incorporated the style. Before hoods signified a laid-back style, now they are a symbol of dressed-up cool. Come Fall, throwing on a frock with a hood means looking slick and covering up a bad hair day!

Rachel Zoe Adds Jewelry and Cozy Accessories to Her Growing Brand

Rachel Zoe is a busy woman, juggling The Rachel Zoe Project (which has not yet been renewed for season five), her signature Rachel Zoe collection, a line for QVC, 10-month-old baby Skyler, and a new television production company called Rachel Zoe Productions - but that's not stopping her from doing more. Zoe has plans to launch two new categories to her signature line: costume jewelry and cold-weather accessories. Highlighting her love for vintage baubles, Zoe's jewelry line is art-deco inspired, highlighting tassel necklaces and earrings along with a "Love Me Knots” category, with knot-embellished hoop earrings, cuff bracelets, and necklaces priced between $195 and $695.

Zoe's cold-weather accessories are set to include real and faux fur hats, hoods, scarves, gloves, and statement-making stoles. "I have this obsession with what women wear in Russia," said Zoe. "The funny thing is that I don't know because I've never been there. But it's what I dream about." The jewelry collection will be exclusively available at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman in stores and online; availability on the cold-weather accessories is still not determined. Create a photo scavenger hunt. Each of you write down a random clue, rhyme, or abstract fact about three locations, then exchange clues and have the other person take photos based on the clues received.
Honor your shared love of photography by baking some camera cookies.
Do a bar crawl to hit up the city's best photo booths. Take a set of pics and have a different cocktail at each.
Make funny gifs of your favorite memories together.
Grab your cameras and spend the day snapping photos of your hood.
Say cheese and challenge yourself by posing for self-portraits together using every filter in Instagram or every film style in Hipstamatic in different locations.
Act like a visitor and snap pics at every tourist attraction in your city.

Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis play a pair of suburban husbands who can't stop checking out other women, despite the fact that they have beautiful wives of their own (played by Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate). Fed up with their wandering eyes, their spouses give the men a "hall pass" - one week off of marriage so they can hook up with other women, and hopefully get it out of their systems. The raunchy comedy has some laughs, but avoid it if you're not into lowbrow humor. The DVD includes a few deleted scenes.

Red Riding Hood

In this re-imagining of the classic fairy tale, Amanda Seyfried plays Valerie, (wearer of the titular red hood), whose village comes under the attack of a werewolf. As the hunt for the attacker begins, Valerie finds herself questioning the woodcutter she loves and the rich boy she's been promised to. The movie is cheesy good fun, especially thanks to newcomers Shiloh Fernandez and Max Irons who play Valerie's love interests, and director Catherine Hardwicke adds some Twilight-esque finishing touches. DVD extras include an alternate ending, audition tapes, making-of featurettes.

There's not anything new to see here, but fans of war movies and explosions will enjoy the non-stop action. DVD bonus features include behind-the-scenes featurettes. 35%

Red Riding Hood: Eat It Up

Why is supernatural romance all the rage these days? When you see a movie like Red Riding Hood, a mature take on the classic fairy tale, you understand why. Director Catherine Hardwicke re-imagines the story, jumping off the basic points (young girl in a red cape, bloodthirsty wolf, grandmother in peril) and manipulates it into a sexy mystery that's equally appealing for both the beautiful cast and whodunit plot. Amanda Seyfried stars as the title character, Valerie, with a juicy dilemma: she's in love with poor woodcutter Peter (Shiloh Fernandez) but her hand has been promised to well-off tinsmith Henry (Max Irons).

Romantic entanglements prove to be the least of Valerie's worries, though. A big bad wolf has tormented her village for ages, but when it claims a young victim, the townspeople panic. A famous priest (the incomparable Gary Oldman) visits to help them, bringing a new piece of information - the villagers are actually being hunted by a werewolf. The witch hunt that follows is distressing for everyone, but it's worse for Valerie as she wonders if her smokin' hot lover Peter could be the wolf everyone fears. Hardwicke manages to draw out the satisfying puzzle while seducing the audience, making Red Riding Hood a deliciously guilty pleasure.

Red Riding Hood is all about looks; the cast members are striking, especially an ethereal Seyfried, who finds balance in the role of an innocent girl who may have some evil lurking within her. Although, it's hard to muster up sympathy for her character's romantic drama when you see the men she's caught between. Dark-haired, dark-eyed Fernandez perfectly fills the role of bad boy with his effortless smolder, while Irons is the fair-haired good guy (who may be too good to be true). As she did with Robert Pattinson in Twilight, Hardwicke proves she has a knack for picking exceptionally promising unknown actors. Likewise, the gorgeous scenery - all snowy trees, cozy cottages, and threatening woods - combined with the costumes make for a sumptuous setting. However, some of the budget might have been better spent on CGI. The special effects used to create the big bad wolf are just plain bad. The other negative to Red Riding Hood (I don't call it a guilty pleasure for nothing), is the dialogue, bits of which are so unsubtle that you won't be able to hold in your groans. But that's not really surprising for a movie like this, so if there's a part of you that can appreciate some silly but sexy cheesiness, then by all means, indulge.

Amanda Seyfried slipped into a sexy LBD for today's London screening of Red Riding Hood. She's been in Europe since Sunday, when she touched down in Paris with her boyfriend, Ryan Phillippe, and his The Lincoln Lawyer costar Matthew McConaughey. The trio left the airport together, but it was just Amanda and Ryan who were caught taking a romantic stroll under the Eiffel Tower on Monday. Matthew and Ryan relocated to Berlin yesterday while she traveled south to catch up with her hot costars Max Irons and Shiloh Fernandez in France.
