Urban Outfitters Faux Fur Hood: Love It or Hate It?

It's been really cold here in SF. The chill factor is high and I can't seem to keep myself warm at night. I'm wondering if I should get this Urban Outfitters Faux Fur Hood ($48) just to stay warm. This hoodie looks cozy but the bulky style is questionable. Do you love it or hate it?

LA Fashion Week Trend Alert: Little Red Riding Hood

Randomly, Little Red Riding Hood made an appearance on the catwalks of LA Fashion Week. Except, the brave little girl came in the form of tall, beanpole models showing off a Fall 2008 trend: hoods. Striped cardigans had hoods at the Whitley Kros show (left); coats at the Alexis Lamontagna collection came hooded (right); and one of Octavio Carlin's silk dresses even incorporated the style. Before hoods signified a laid-back style, now they are a symbol of dressed-up cool. Come Fall, throwing on a frock with a hood means looking slick and covering up a bad hair day!

Mike & Chris Hooded Scarf: Love It or Hate It?

At first glance, this Mike & Chris Amos Lightweight Hooded Scarf ($172) looks foreign; almost like a chador that Iranian women wear. But I understand where Mike & Chris is coming from because with so many scarves out there, it's hard to stand out. Walking around in this will surely make you different from the crowd. What do you think of it?

Sarah Hood Living Rings: Love It or Hate It?

I am speechless. These Sarah Hood Living Rings, $800 each, are not meant to decorate your house, but rather, your fingers. They are living plants with terra cotta pots and sterling silver rings. Though I would never walk around with a plant on my finger, they are pretty unique. But, I would have to keep my hand up just to prevent it from breaking and that's too high maintenance. And the thought of watering my finger is way weird. What do you all think?

I recently got an intense urge to fill my closet with a ton of cozy chic sweaters. You know what spurred it? Daria Werbowy's delicious hooded sweater in Vogue Nippon. A-mazing. The key to a great sweater is it not only looking good, but feeling good on your skin, too. That's why you shouldn't skimp in this category - an itchy sweater, no matter how inexpensive, is useless. But, that's not to say that you can't find a relatively affordable style that's cool and comfy. One of them is this popcorn-colored cableknit sweater Arlenis Sosa is wearing. Jean Paul Gaultier Satin Dress: Love It or Hate It?

To me, this Jean Paul Gaultier Satin Embroidered Dress with Hood, $1,685, looks like it could be a part of Michael Knight of Project Runway's Spring 2007 collection. I don't mind the silhouette so much but I definitely don't like the color, the fabric and the embroidered Tiger. Do you agree?

The Look For Less: Burberry Minstead Hooded Duffle Coat

If ever there was a designer label that knows coats, it's Burberry. The wonderfully British brand has been delivering all sorts of sophisticated and sassy winter styles, like this Burberry Minstead Hooded Duffle Coat, available in black or camel for $695 here. I love the way it takes a very classic pea coat shape and gives it a bit of edge with the toggle closures and cozy hood. But if paying nearly $700 for a coat seems too rich for your blood, I've found a version that's $500 cheaper and, in my opinion, cuter. To see what it is, read more

It's this Banana Republic Wool Toggle Coat, which costs just $198 here. It's got very similar flap pockets with prominent seams, as well as the same playful toggle fasteners. But I actually like the high-contrast white closures better than the muted black on the Burberry. The only thing this version is missing is the hood, but that just gives you an excuse to wear a cute knit hat. Either way, these classic coats are likely to be in style for years to come.

Battle of The Hills Costumes: Flirty Flapper vs. Little Red Riding Hood

The Halloween fun does not stop for me when the Fab holiday is over. Au contraire. Last year we had Lauren and then-BF Audrina battle out their costumes. This year it's all about the ladies in red. This is a fine example of two friends coordinating costumes, but doing completely different ideas. Lauren perfectly embodies a flapper, but her color choices aren't typical. Nice. She lightened things up with a white fringed dress, gold metallic sandals, and a dramatic feather hairpiece. Lo looks super cute too, in a classic red cape and dress, though her shoes could have been more festive. However, her props take Little Red Riding Hood to the next level. Which costumed Hills blonde gets your vote?
