Style For Style: A Gummy Fashion Situation

I let a friend borrow a lovely ruffled jacket I have, much like this Max Mara Ruffle Front Jacket, $890. Big mistake! Somehow she got gum on the sleeve, which is a mystery because she wasn't chewing gum the entire night (yeah right!). Naturally, I freaked out, but she remained calm. Little did I know that she had a trick up her sleeve.

Yes, you are staring at a piece of ice. My smarty pants friend took one cube and rubbed it on the gum-infested area until the ice had practically melted and the gum had come off. It's hard to tell how long the process takes but if this happens to you, rub the ice on the gum and scratch it off until it disappears. It's labor intensive but worth it if you want to salvage your clothing! Please be mindful of sensitive fabrics like suede and silk.

High Fashion on Ice

Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Gisele Bundchen and the slew of other mega models are talented, but I highly doubt they are skilled enough to do high fashion on ice. American figure skater, Sasha Cohen, proves in V Magazine's Blade Runner shoot that you don't need to be a professional model to create killer high fashion photos. These shots are worth a front-row seat and we're your ticket.

Do you all remember the Sasha Cohen competition on season two of Project Runway? The designing gang's task was to design a skating outfit for the 2006 silver medalist. What do you think about these photos of Sasha? Are they high fashion or do they fall flat on the ice?

Fab Finding Follow Up: Ice Skate Date

You want to enjoy the cool weather before it passes, so you and your man are heading to the local outdoor ice skating rink this weekend to get in some quality fun time. The goal is to look cute for your date, but also wear something that can survive a couple not-so-graceful falls (unless you're a pro, of course).

I started you off with these Carolina Amato Opera-Length Leather Gloves ($285) because you can scrunch them down and hence look super chic.

SAG Awards Trend Alert: Ice Queens

Despite the vibrant background of the 2008 SAG Awards red carpet, there were quite a number of Ice Queens present. Brittany Snow, Eva Longoria Parker, Ashley Tisdale, Teri Hatcher, and Christina Applegate all donned white washed gowns with twinkling embellishments, and perhaps started a new red carpet trend! But these ladies weren't at all stone cold; they rocked ear-to-ear smiles and dazzled in their frosty looks. Glacier-icious!

Alessandra won for most Fab at the Los Premios MTV Awards last week, but let's see if she can beat a fellow Victoria Secret vixen in this cut-out lace Balmain LBD.
