The inaugural issue of Vogue India hit stands today, featuring Bollywood stars Bipasha Basu, Priyanka Chopra and Preity Zinta, local supermodels MoniKangana Dutta and Laxmi Menon, and Australian supermodel Gemma Ward all on the cover, shot by fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier.
This new edition of Vogue is expected to be more colorful and more vibrant than the western models, according to Alex Kuruvilla, managing director of Conde Nast India. He also expects it to draw attention to Indian designers, Indian photographers, and even Indian models.

Gemma Ward is one lucky lady! She not only got to appear on the inaugural cover of Vogue China two years ago (below), but she just recently shot the cover of the debut issue of Vogue India, which is expected to appear in September. I love Gemma, but I think it is interesting that they chose her for the first covers of both the Chinese and Indian Vogues.

Not all of us are lucky enough to live in the Bahamas, so thankfully, India Hicks is bringing some of her peaceful island existence to us. The British former model is serving as the face and the muse of the new Crabtree & Evelyn Naturals line of shower scrubs, soaps, and other bath accoutrements.
In a world overrun with scented bath products, these 19 blends really stand out, with extracts of sugarcane, cardamom, mint, and other exotic ingredients that really do summon images of island living.

Once a jewelry fanatic, always a jewelry fanatic. This rings so true for Tejani creator Urvi Prunier. The seasoned fashionphile held stints in sales and merchandising at fashion houses like Chanel, YSL, and Nicole Miller, but eventually returned to her true love.

The world's been smitten by it, and soon enough fashion will follow suit. Oscar best picture winner Slumdog Millionaire showed the many tumultuous lives that exist in the slums of India. But ultimately, hope reigned.

Bar Refaeli got most of the praise for being the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover girl, but there were a handful of other women who equally burned up the pages. I got the chance to chat with them all, including Jessica Gomes, a part-Singaporean, part-Portuguese exotic model who was born in Australia. You may recognize the 24-year-old from DKNY, Urban Outfitters, Adidas, and Old Navy ads.
