Taipei-born designer Jason Wu has quite an eclectic background - he started out as a freelance doll clothing designer and has quickly made a name for himself with real girls in the fashion world with his luxe, super-feminine sportswear collection. Jason's easy, glamorous designs are a hit among stylish stars like Diane Kruger, Blake Lively, and Natalie Portman - not to mention First Lady Michelle Obama, whom he dressed for the inaugural ball in 2008. Each of Jason Wu's collections are impeccably crafted, blending classic haute couture techniques with a modern, sophisticated sensibility. Blake Lively Pitches in to Help Launch Jason Wu For Target

Blake Lively was among the starlets who stepped out in NYC last night to celebrate the launch of Jason Wu For Target. She joined the designer on the red carpet, which also hosted Chloë Moretz and Jaime King. French singer Yelle was on hand to entertain the attendees, who snacked on Laduree macarons. Jason later tweeted his appreciation for the turnout. He wrote, "Can I just say having Chloe Moretz and Jaime King at my Jason Wu for Target party meant the world to me."

The bash was Blake's second public appearance of the day after celebrating Gossip Girl's 100th episode in Queens with her small screen costars Ed Westwick and Penn Badgley. Mayor Michael Bloomberg was there to issue a special proclamation in honor of the series, which has brought many jobs to the Big Apple area during its five-year run.

We just got our hands on the Jason Wu for Target lookbook, showing the line in its 53-piece entirety. The "gamine chic" collection, inspired by French new-wave films, drops online and in stores on Feb. 5 featuring a range of pieces reflecting girlie nuances with a fresh twist via crisp peplum tops, sweet floral-print dresses, Peter Pan collars, and pleated skirts. Striped colorblocking, sheer floaty blouses, and chic structured totes and handbags were also a focal point in the line. "I wanted the collection to have a sophisticated voice with an American sportswear spin,” said Wu. The best part? Everything is priced under $60. This is a collection we can't wait to shop. Obsessed With . . . the Tuxedo

When our evening style sensibilities crave something a little more snappy, we look to the tuxedo. Tuxedo looks dominated the Fall runways at Jason Wu, Tibi, Dolce & Gabbana, and Moschino, then on sharply dressed celebs like Olivia Palermo and Evan Rachel Wood. Not that the tux is new on the scene; we owe it to greats like Marlene Dietrich for making the menswear evening staple a glamorously cool option for us girls. With holiday season approaching, and with it, a bevy of parties, we totally plan on utilizing the look via slim black trousers, tailored suit jackets (leather lapels optional), and blouses with crisp contrast piping. If we're feeling particularly snazzy we'll finish the look with a playful bow tie and a classic pair of heels to counter all the boyish charm.
