Cynthia Rowley Fall 2012

Deriving inspiration from craftsmen - mechanics, cobblers, and (much more obviously) leathermen, Cynthia Rowley's own Fall craftsmanship honed in on these artists with a succinctly modern and much sportier interpretation. Save for denim on denim suiting or brilliant colored leather, there's not too much literal interpretation, but rather a cool collection of womanly, curve-conscious design married with menswear-inspired structure. We're treated to bold all-over prints washed over body-skimming sheaths, skinny pants, and even gloves. And while a tougher, boxier leather jacket lined in shearling might pinpoint Rowley's craftsmen influences, what takes shape is still definitively for the girls.

Trends: Colored leather, abstract prints, menswear.
Colors: Blue, black, maroon, orange, olive green, gray, white.
Key Piece: We love the printed pants, shearling-trimmed jacket, and deep navy leather pieces.

Even with the slight wardrobe snafu - her zipper was said to be malfunctioning - the actress still emoted complete radiance. For adornments, Sarah chose a black box clutch and jeweled bracelet. The retro-inspired hair trend is a popular one for Fall, and this week in particular, we spotted three gorgeous stars sporting vintage styles on the red carpet. Kirsten Dunst paired her tie-neck dress with a simple bun and dramatic side-sweeping bangs, while fellow short-haired star Ashley Judd adorned her '20s-style finger waves with a jeweled barrette. At the Footloose premiere in LA, Julianne Hough left her blond locks long and loose, wearing romantic waves and a deep side part. For Spring '12, Giambattista Valli showcased a collection fit for parties and red carpet appearances. Fancy sheath dresses were the focal point in his collection, adorned with metallic embroidery and jeweled details. Texture also came into play via white fringe - made to look almost like fur, but without the weight - churned into chic bohemian vests and embellished on dresses. The same technique was utilized in splashy zebra prints and a colorful pink and red jacket. Pamela Love Spring 2012

Pamela Love presented a Western-inspired Spring 2012 collection to a packed house at Milk Studios on Saturday night - including Anna Wintour. We walked in to discover a lineup of models paying homage to the Wild West with, for the first time, clothing crafted for the presentation - bandannas, cowboy hats, neutral trousers and skirts, and wide leather belts. As for the jewels, Love stays true to her craft with geometric gold collars, angular rings and bracelets, and cage-like cuffs. Then, a few departures: turquoise and amethyst gemstones adorning breastplates for a warmer, earthier feel than the edgier Love looks we're used to.
