Wish I'd been there. The Spike Scream Awards gathered the hottest and coolest of the scary genre Saturday night. Twilight fans had Taylor Lautner to scream at, True Blood lovers cheered on the award-winning show, Vampire Diaries newbies flaunted their stuff, and directors Quentin Tarantino and J.J. Abrams received recognition. Style mavens Kate Bosworth and Liv Tyler were even there. Lush leather, short skirts, and severe black dominated, but no one can ever upstage Johnny Depp's eclectic element. Check it out!

Lately I have been overwhelmed with the abundance of style. We're gonna shake things up this week and give props to several folks and their sharp aesthetic. Summer is in effect, bods are in shape, experimentation abounds. I even threw in a couple stylish men this week - I'm sure you won't mind what with Milan men's Fashion Week and all. Dramatic white frocks (i.e. Blake in sultry Roberto Cavalli) and prints stood out to me, as well as perfect fits and sleek accessorizing. Here's the week's faves . . .

On his own, Johnny is a style icon, known for his eclectic fashion choices. Now, add to that an amazingly gorgeous and equally quirky French singer and actress, and it's double the fabulousness.

Since hooking up in 1998, one thing has always remained: without fail, they each dress to please no one but themselves. Not many men stand out as having style, and substance, to me. At the top of my menswear appreciation list is Johnny Depp. Jimi Hendrix is not far behind. He was intense, immensely talented, and fringe-tastic. Before the days of music video, we could live our Jimi fantasies through live performances - I think it's the best way to admire his form, anyway. Here he is, in said fringe-tastic white leather jacket, rockin' the way only he does. The red 'fro sash is a singular sensation. Blazing.

Fab Read: Rebel Rebel, Anti-Style

A bit of a rebel himself, British singer-turned-designer Keanan Duffty has penned a book that will appeal to, well, rebels. Rebel Rebel: Anti-Style ($23), debuting Sept. 8, is a 144-page book exploring how the "heritage and history" of fashion staples like the T-shirt and leather jacket have inspired that style. Famous rebels like Elvis Presley, James Dean, Johnny Depp and Gwen Stefani are also highlighted, as are denim, rock T-shirts and hoodies, hair, makeup, and body art. "When you walk into vintage stores, there are different sections for tuxedos, prom dresses, etc. We approached the book the same way," Duffty said. Makes total sense.

Zoom straight to the bottom half of Nicky Hilton's ensemble and check out her lofty loafers. These comfy yet curiously cool shoes have been redesigned for the hipster girl. I like how loafers give off a smart, Euro vibe; it must be that whole Johnny Depp thing. They go great with jeans, shorts, and even dresses. I actually own a pair and wear them with skinny jeans and a floaty top for a cute boho-meets-boy look.

It's official: Doc Martens are back in style, and from the looks of things, it's only going to get bigger. The iconic '90s shoe - you know you had a pair - has resurfaced with new styles and designer collaborations. Last year, the brand was overwhelmingly successful with its kimono-print collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto. Now, the company announced a special capsule collection with Raf Simons.
