Estelle may be a Grammy award-winning singer, but that isn't going to stop her from trying out other creative outlets. After designing a tee for H&M and collaborating on a handbag design with Jonathan Kelsey, singer Estelle is ready to take it up a notch with an even bigger fashion endeavor: creating a jewelry collection with Rachel Roy. “I am excited to work with Estelle on a jewelry collection, which will debut in spring 2010," dished Rachel Roy via Twitter.
It makes perfect sense to wear lace-up booties in the Winter; it's aberrant in the beginnings of Summer. It's no secret global warming is in full effect and it's throwing off designers and retailers alike. As for us shoppers, I say, the more we can wear our favorite things, the better.
Remember when I said shoe designer Jonathan Kelsey is going to give Christian Louboutin some competition? Well, my prediction seems to be right on. London brand Mulberry is moving into footwear, and Kelsey is responsible for designing a five-piece capsule collection to debut at Mulberry's London Fashion Week Fall '08 show.
Move over Christian Louboutin — there's a new shoe man in town, and he's serving up sexy and intelligent footwear. I'm not implying that Loub needs to move out, but his new neighbor, Jonathan Kelsey, is posing a serious threat. Jonathan honed his skills at Jimmy Choo, Cacharel, and Giles Deacon, so his posh designs should come as no surprise.
