Of the career choice, she simply says, "When one door closes . . . I'm in a time of rediscovery, from my career to my personal style."

If Milla's reinvention includes helping choose her clothes for that latest cover of Lucky, then she's doing something right. Style For Style: Perfecting the Denim Mix

Mixing denim is a dangerous game; you either pull it off or you don't. The key to perfecting this tricky look is thinking outside the box and above all, making sure your denim items contrast one another. Time to kick that old image of a cowboy out of your head!

Pair ink dark jeans with a light denim jacket, and vice versa.
Make it look like you mismatched your denim on purpose, like at D&G Spring '08 (pictured).
Look to trousers, blazers, and sharp cuts that will translate your mixed denim ensemble as modern.

I hope you remembered to shave your legs because this week's Fab finds were filled with stem baring dresses. I don't blame you for all the sizzlin' hot frocks, after all, isn't that why we love the hot hot heat?

Oscarworthy: Designers And Diamonds Unite!

It's almost Oscars time, so you know what that means? Diamonds galore! Phillip Lim, Rodarte, Libertine, Jovovich-Hawk, and Alabama Chanin have all joined forces with the Diamond Information Center to celebrate Oscars fashions by creating one-of-a-kind red carpet looks incorporating diamond pieces.

All the gowns, including Rodarte's (left), are currently on display at the Chateau Marmont in LA - today is the last day - so if you're in the area, stop by and report!

read more Lim has designed a "Galaxy" gown with the help of a Cartier antique brooch. The Rodarte sisters, Laura and Kate Mulleavy, used five diamond butterfly Van Cleef & Arpels brooches to liven their pink dress. Jovovich-Hawk borrowed a gold and diamond Camilla Dietz Bergeron necklace, while Libertine used 21 Neil Lane brooches to dazzle their 1930s black-velvet frock. Alabama Chanin teamed up with Gem Palace and used $50,000 worth of rough diamond beads along the neckline of her ivory gown. I sure hope someone wears one of these diamond-in-the-rough gowns to the Oscars!

Fab Flash: Jovovich-Hawk Collection for Target

Last fall I was excited to hear that Jovovich-Hawk was going to create a collection for the Target Go line come Spring. I knew the label's designers, models Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk, would deliver their quintessential, vintage-inspired pieces at a price I could afford. Well, the wait is almost over! The line, scheduled to hit stores on March 2, definitely delivers its promise of iconic Jovovich-Hawk looks, however some of them are looking a little too Sienna Miller circa 2005 for my taste. Oh, and be sure to check out the backstage beauties at the Jovovich-Hawk Fall '08 show!

Backstage Beauty: Jovovich-Hawk

This afternoon, I subwayed down to a Soho loft for a non-runway fashion event. Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk were hosting a presentation for their clothing line, Jovovich-Hawk. "The clothes are what Mick Jagger's girlfriend would have worn," Milla explained as she walked me through a collection of plaid suiting, salmon-colored coats, and knit dresses.

At some presentations, the models do their own hair and makeup. That was the case at Jovovich-Hawk, and all three models had a cohesive, natural look. I especially loved one model's short, cropped hair. It's not often you get to see hair that's shorter than shoulder-length, but it always looks so fresh.

Fab Flash: Jovovich-Hawk for Target

Spring '08 is a ways away but it's never too early to get excited for yet another Target Go line. It has been reported that Jovovich-Hawk, the label designed by models Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk, will hit the Target racks next year.

According to Milla, "Our Target line will have all our classic pieces: smock dresses, tunics, minis, all vintage-inspired, great prints. We took the things that sold the best for us but we're doing it on a bigger scale."

I personally can't wait to stock up on affordable Jovovich-Hawk pieces and I'm sure you can't either!
