Fab Finding Follow Up: Winter Weekend Escape

In the midst of all of the end-of-year madness, sometimes it's nice to take a breather. Let's face it: Holidays may mean you take off time from work, but they're no vacation.

To get some true you time, you're taking a weekend escape to a friend's cabin up in Lake Tahoe. I started you off with this Floral Crochet Hat ($28) because it's a cute topper and will keep your head cozy. Be sure to check out all the Winter escape Fab Finds.

I recently gushed how cool it is my mom is getting back into sewing. She already knits me amazing scarves, hats, and ponchos, but now she can make me clothes. And costumes! Her first project is my Halloween costume (stay tuned on more details pertaining to that). Last week we went to some fabric stores to look for faboo fabrics. In an ideal world, I'd be carrying this Lanvin Amalia Quilted Tote ($1,475). It's nice and roomie for all my patterns and sewing stuff. Let's see what you found for me . . .

All Neon Like at Michael Kors Fall: Love It or Hate It?

Designers were expected to go one of two routes for Fall; smart, wearable clothes or fantasy, inspirational clothes. I have seen a lot of the first group, and the European shows will probably be the ones giving us the latter. Michael Kors managed to deliver both. His collection has '80s power-dressing undertones, like a lot of others this season, but it was restrained, except for his in-your-face neons. He showed great basic blacks and dresses, but paired them with outrageous neon fur, hats, and knits. I love me some neon - especially in the dead of Winter - so I'm on the Kors train. Are you all neon like?

Battle of the D&G: Bilson vs. Lathan

These ladies turned up at the D&G boutique opening party in LA in some statement-making pieces. Bilson decided to dress up jeans in a blue sequin tuxedo jacket and bright yellow clutch. Sanaa wore a black knit hat, a textured black and gold dress, and net-like sandals. It comes down to whether you dig the sequin tuxedo jacket or the lady in the hat. Who made a better statement?
