Kirsten Dunst is really throwing herself into the fashion ring recently: first appearing in the Spring Miu Miu ads and now collaborating with luxe knitwear line Lutz + Patmos.

She follows in the footsteps of Liv Tyler, Sofia Coppola, and Julianne Moore, who have all designed for the cashmere-friendly label in the past, and her capsule collection debuts on Feb. 3, during the upcoming New York Fashion Week!

Jason Wu Takes on Tse

There's more reason to love Wu now that the designer has taken on a new project: designing a capsule collection for Tse. “When she [Tse's CEO, Christina Peng-Gerschultz] asked me if I wanted to do a capsule [line], I thought, ‘This could be interesting,’” said Wu. “In many ways, I am probably the least expected designer to do this, because Tse’s aesthetic is so different from my own, but that’s one reason I wanted to do it.”

The collection will be comprised of woven and knitwear pieces dipped in colorful hues. Tse, who currently works with Wu on producing his knitwear pieces, will debut the Fall '10 limited-edition capsule collection in February during New York Fashion Week. Prices are TBD, but we do know the line will hit Tse stores in July.

Sonia Rykiel For H&M!

Just in time for Christmas, H&M has announced its latest designer collaboration: Sonia Rykiel for H&M. And for the first time, this collection will be lead by lingerie. The lingerie collection will launch in H&M stores Dec. 5 and - another first - will be available in Sonia Rykiel boutiques around the world. The "Queen of Knits" will then release a second collection featuring an iconic knitwear collection for women and girls as well as playful accessories on Feb. 20, 2010.

"It is a hallmark of Sonia Rykiel to think of all women because fashion is about a certain spirit more than a question of means. This collaboration fits perfectly with our philosophy. Emma Watson to Design a Charitable Line

There were rumors circling in June that Emma Watson was to become a charitable fashion designer for UNICEF. Sadly those rumors were shot down, but it appears they weren't too far off-the-mark. Announced today, Emma Watson will be creating a capsule collection for People Tree, which will launch in February 2010.

Emma says of the collaboration: "I wanted to help People Tree produce a younger range because I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with."

As for the line, it will consist of jersey t-shirts, dresses, woven skirts, trousers, shorts, and knitwear for both men and women. The collection will also include embroidered bed throws (are you listening Casa?), amongst other accessories. All of the products will use 100 percent organic and fair-trade cotton and will be made entirely by hand by fair-trade artisans.

It sounds like beyond a pretty face, Emma's got a good head on her shoulders. Are you excited to see Emma's designs?

Former Cacharel Designers Work on a Budget

While many dread budget restraints, former Cacharel designer Ignacio Ribeiro welcomes it. "Cutting budgets back is so exciting," he said, referring to the relaunch of him and his wife, Suzanna Clement's label, Clement Ribeiro. The duo put their company into voluntary liquidation in 2005 and left Cacharel in 2007. "It’s been a big, fun game for us, finding ways to be better, stronger - and more competitive but on a smaller scale," Ribeiro said.

Whereas before their collection was all about intarsia, now knitwear will be combined with wovens. The pair currently works from home in North London and is aiming to reduce prices 20 percent for Spring 2010.

In the works is a bold and bright capsule collection - to be unveiled during couture week in Paris in July - of limited-edition ready-to-wear and accessories made from vintage couture fabrics. Also in the pipeline is an upgraded website featuring a series of 30-second films which will make the collections come to life. Welcome back.

Fab Flash: Serena Williams Shows Off Her Design Skills At HSN

On April 30, Serena Williams will be taking her style from the tennis courts to the HSN with the debut of her accessories and clothing collection, called Signature Statement. "I always want to make a statement, both on and off the court," said Williams. "One of my dreams has always been to share gorgeous gifts of fashion and luxury with the world. Off the court, my passion is fashion. Signature Statement is my own line of accessories and fashion, complete from jewelry to dresses."

The collection, retailing between $30 to $100, will include a trendy collection of jewels, handbags, and knitwear. Williams personally describes the accessories as "feminine, classic, statement pieces." Tell me: Are you interested in seeing Serena's skills off the court?

Milan Fashion Week, Fall 2008: Missoni

With knitwear set to be a huge Fall trend, the house of Missoni, which has always been a leader in the knitwear field, is rejoicing. What a celebration it was on this catwalk: stripes, the signature zig zags, florals, colorblocking, and paillettes splashed around like confetti.

Slouchy tops, pouf sleeves, and knee-length hems firmed up Missoni's Fall aesthetic, with swatches of teal, mustard, cranberry, and orange adorning the otherwise neutral color palette. Speaking of which, some of the color combinations and prints remind me of Prada - does anyone else see that?
