Vera Wang to Launch a Makeup Line

Vera Wang's move into fragrance has been a hit, so shifting into cosmetics is the natural next step. In 2012, she'll launch Simply Vera by Vera Wang makeup, skin care, and bath products at Kohl's stores. "As part of my incredible partnership with Kohl's, I will now be able to offer women all over America my own personal regimen for skincare and makeup," Wang said in a press release. "It is an easy, light, modern and effortless approach to beauty and creativity." The products, like her more affordable Simply Vera clothing collection, will be available exclusively at Kohl's. Before then, though, expect to see Leighton Meester as the face of her next scent, which bows next year.

Another Halloween, another costume accessory to make us groan. This time, it's the "ghetto fab" wig - their name, not ours - stocked at stores like Kohl's. Wearing a curly Afro wig on Halloween, as Afrobella points out, can be an iffy endeavor in itself. But labeling this natural hairstyle "ghetto fab" is offensive to many people, and I'm hoping this is the last Halloween to display this kind of insensitivity. (Unlikely, but a girl can dream.)

By the looks of it, my upcoming Spring wardrobe is going to incorporate many pieces from Kohl's. LC Lauren Conrad's collection produced great hits, and so has Vera Wang's lower-priced line Simply Vera. As you can see, there are happy colors galore - coral, purple, teal, yellow - as well as muted accents like black and gray. According to Vera, this collection is all about the details: pleats, tucks, beads, sheer. Dresses, tunics, denim, jackets, and accessories are all reasonably priced. It's all available now, so get your fix.

Even though we're missing her on The Hills, Lauren Conrad is keeping busy. Last week the reality star launched her LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's line in LA. The affordable "California-inspired" line is filled with cute separates like jeans and knit tops but there are also a few pieces that would look great in a yoga and Pilates studio too. These pieces are on sale now and we're loving how affordable the prices are - nothing shown here is over $25!

I am thinking the tank and leggings would look lovely on a Pilates Reformer layered with either shirt for walking to and from class. What about you?
