Simply Fab: "It's Only Fashion" Card

"You live it. You love it. But then there are those days that you remember, 'it's only fashion.'" I couldn't have said it better myself. Emelle Press' "It's Only Fashion" Card ($4.50 each) made its way to me at LA Fashion Week. I had to share it because though we live and breathe fashion, we should also try to live by Project Runway alum Santino Rice's words: "Lighten up, it's fashion." Read more

10 Ways to Know You're SO LA

Petro Zillia's Spring 2008 line sheet explaining all the runway looks also included a fun little bit about life in LA; the list was deemed "10 Ways you Know You're SO LA." It kept me entertained before the show began and made me realize that I'm so not LA (out of 30 possibilities, I only semi-identified with a few). We thought it would be fun to share so you can figure out if you're SO LA. You Read more

Paris and Fab Enjoy the Last of LA Fashion Week

Paris Hilton enjoyed her VIP perch at the Petro Zillia Spring 2008 show finishing off LA Fashion Week on Thursday. She certainly looks happy to be there for her old friend Petro as he showed off his newest line. Fab's got all the hot runway looks from the show for you to see, but even more exciting, they've been racking up the Celebrity Sightings while in LA for Fashion Week. They even spotted Read more

Love It or Hate It? Afro Puff at Petro Zillia

Designer Petro Zillia paired her fun, flirty, and free-flowing dresses with a variation on the updo at LA Fashion Week. She pulled the model's hair back into a traditional ponytail then added some serious volume in the back with a curly 'fro. The designer counts Paris Hilton as a client, but somehow I can't envision Miss Hilton sporting this style. What do you think of the pulled back afro Read more

LA Fashion Week, Spring 2008: Petro Zillia

Paris Hilton is an avid Petro Zillia fan — in fact, upon her exit from jail, she wore the brand's olive blazer. Judging from this collection of flirty and fun dresses, it's clear the feeling is mutual for Petro Zillia designer Nony Tochterman; I can for sure see the star sporting these frocks. Color and silky fabrics were omnipresent. As with any feminine collection, ruffles and tiers were Read more

LA Fashion Week Spring 2008, Monarchy: Love It or Hate It?

LA Fashion Week Spring 2008, Monarchy: Love It or Hate It?

Monarchy attempted the menswear theme that many designers have been dabbling with recently. Only, their route was more boyish than manly. This particular look reminds me a lot of Hansel from the German fairytale. On the runway (or green carpet in this case), it looks whimsical and cute, but on the streets, it would look wacky. Perhaps it would be a fashionable Halloween costume? What do you say? Read more

Love It or Hate It? Face Paint At Heatherette

Things have always been a little kookier at LA Fashion Week, but the makeup at the Heatherette show this season had more of a Halloween edge than a pretty or polished fashion feel. What do you think of this face paint look on model Lydia Hearst? Source Love It or Hate It? Face Paint At Heatherette Love It - Anything goes on the runway! Hate It - I thought models were Read more

LA Fashion Week Trend Alert: Black Tights

Quick: what's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of black tights? Cold weather, Fall or Winter, I bet. The last thing I would associate black tights with is sunny LA. So imagine my shock when I spotted so many girls at LA Fashion Week wearing black tights during the day. Mind you, the weather was about 75 degrees. Don't get me wrong, I love a cool pair of tights when the weather Read more

LA Fashion Week, Spring 2008: Jeremy Scott

Jeremy Scott is never one to shy away from bold and racy designs and his Spring 2008 collection was no exception. Though there was no ass-slapping between models like there has been in his past shows, there was lots of drama. Namely, all the female models walked out with large garbage can hats. Backstage, watching them get ready before the show, I wondered why they had dirt-like makeup on their Read more

LA Fashion Week, Spring 2008: TART

LA Fashion Week, Spring 2008: TART

Given the warm LA climate, it's not surprising TART stuck to what they do best: easy, breezy, micro-modal dresses. There were oodles of flowy dresses, long and short. Prints, like exploding dots and feathers, were introduced and much appreciated. I took note of bandeau-style bikini tops paired with high-waisted genie pants, racerback mini dresses, turtleneck frocks, and details like Grecian Read more
