You know I've been waiting for someone to wear my favorite lavender Marchesa dress from the designer's Fall collection. And that someone was Fab favorite Penelope Cruz. Alas, it's ill-fitting. Speaking of ill, Penelope otherwise looks radiant at the Broken Embraces premiere after a bout of food poisoning. From the sweet lavender color, to the jeweled bodice and back, and the drapes and ruching, this dress has it all. I just wish a proper fitting took place. Can you see past the fit and into the fabulous?

Lavender is such a pretty color; it's a wonder that more celebs don't wear it. Chloë Sevigny knows what's up. . . . she chose a lavender Narciso Rodriguez tie dress for the premiere of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly back in November. PYT Amanda Bynes wore the same dress to the 2008 Critics' Choice Awards last night. Both have a slick black clutch, but Chloë opted for messy hair and bright red lips.

I hate to be predictable, but you knew this was going to happen. Didn't we all swoon when we saw Diane in frothy lavender Marchesa at the annual New Yorkers For Children Spring dinner dance in NYC? We should have seen it coming with her hint of icy lavender the day before. I saw this dress live at Marchesa's Fall showing, and I've been waiting for someone - not just anyone - to wear it. And Diane does, to perfection. She compliments the voluminous one-sleeved frock with cool-gray accessories and heavenly makeup. There couldn't be a more perfect frock for our girl - it's dramatic, feminine, forward. Diane continues to deliver gifts of pulchritude.

Fab Flash: Vera Wang Launches Footwear Despite All the Drama

Despite news about her failing Lavender Line, Vera Wang is determined to make things work. In fact, the designer decided to forge ahead with a footwear collection while plans for her handbag line are put on hold. “I didn’t want to launch a bag line in this economy,” said the designer. As for Lavender Label, expect to see a change within price points and a shift in offerings. Vera hinted that she might turn the line into a dress collection. “We will decide, but based on what the orders are coming in,” said Wang.
