Last night's episode of Gossip Girl wasn't as juicy as the premiere, but there were enough scrumptious affairs to keep us on our toes until next week. As the Upper East Siders left the Hamptons, Serena and Dan couldn't seem to keep their paws off one another. Seriously, who could resist Serena's temptation and her fabulous frock? Her tie-dye Adam maxi dress looks hippie-chic. To complete the ensemble, a layered Margo Morrison necklace and Sigerson Morrison sandals. Her cute party look inspired me to find a similar, cheaper outfit.

Behold Molly Sims' swirly silk Alberta Ferretti goodness at the an LA photography exhibition hosted by the star. Yes, the pattern and colors of the dress make it unique, but I'm more drawn to her keen accessorizing abilities. Instead of leaving her neck bare, like most people would, Molly chose to layer different gold necklaces on top of one another for a chunky effect. This took the look from normal to snazzy. I also love her cork clutch and the deep-red peep toes because they're unexpected touches.

Many fashion followers are inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker, but Gossip Girl Blake Lively took her adoration to a more proactive level. At a recent event, she showed up wearing an outfit almost identical to an Yves Saint Laurent one that SJP wore not too long ago. Call it copying, call it inspiration, tomato, tomato, but the similarities are uncanny - the overly layered Margo Morrison New York necklaces, the champagne colored Dolce & Gabbana sheath dress, the blond pulled back hair. As long as SJP doesn't get perturbed, I don't have a problem with it. Do you?

Victoria Bartlett has cornered the knit market with her on-trend, sexy spin on the classic sweater, and the VPL by Victoria Bartlett Fall '12 collection gave us many more iterations to love. Known for her body-conscious silhouettes and athletic aesthetic, the designer offered up avant-garde, futuristic chic with ornate spiderweb-inspired cable-knit pieces, drapey cowl-neck tops and dresses, and bright pops of color and metallic sheen. Models also wore tight, solid leggings layered with strong-shoulder sweaters, shin guards, and of course VPL's signature colorblock underpinnings - looking almost ready for a battle. Keep your outerwear functional and stylish by investing in a go-with-anything anorak. A piece like this transitions seamlessly from day to night and pairs well with just about everything, trust us.
Look for added luxe in a great pair of earrings. High necklines and layers might cover up a pretty necklace, but a gorgeous pair of drop earrings will lend a glam touch that won't get lost in your look.
Ditch your blue jeans in favor of slick leather. A pair of leather pants looks infinitely more polished than your faded denim - think of this as your Fashion Week basic, then add on your cozy knits to contrast.

Arm parties and expertly layered necklaces are great-except in winter, when bare limbs and necklines are hidden like, 70 percent, of the time.
