Pace on the phone
Invest in a two-way speakerphone, a superlong phone-to-ear cord, or a quality headset so you can be more mobile while you chat.

Even if you simply stand while on the phone, you'll naturally shift from leg to leg.

Putter after eating
Or take a quick walk postmeals. The fat levels in your bloodstream are highest after eating, and simply moving around afterward increases the activity of lipoprotein lipase, which spurs your metabolism.

Opt for bar seats at restaurants
Sit on the front third of the bar stool. Spread your feet just wider than hip distance, so they're supporting a fair bit of your weight, and gently roll your hips forward, arching your back slightly.

This position is called "perching" - it maintains an S-shape in your spine and distributes your weight more evenly.

Dakota and Elle Fanning Splash Around During a Fun Family Day at the Beach

Dakota Fanning wore sky-high wedges on the sand in LA yesterday. She was joined by her little sister, Elle, father, Steven, and other young family members to play on the swings and get their feet wet in the surf. The Fanning crew has a lot to celebrate following Dakota's recent graduation from high school and Elle's box-office success with Super 8. Elle, who is just 13, promoted the project at the MTV Movie Awards, at the film's premiere with Tom Cruise, and during a funny appearance on The Tonight Show last week. Dakota is sure to have her own movie achievement soon with the release of Breaking Dawn Part 1 in November, after joining the hit franchise as an evil Volturi in 2009's New Moon. She's also front and center in the new ads for Marc Jacobs's Oh, Lola! fragrance, though the 17-year-old is causing a bit of a stir due to the sexy nature of the photos.

David Beckham Watches the Galaxy Win and Talks Going Gray Since Harper's Birth

David brought all the Beckham boys, including his father Ted, to the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA, last night. The guys watched from their box seats as the Galaxy beat the Mexican team Monarcas Morelia 2 to 1. David was forced to sit out due to a one-game suspension he received after getting two yellow cards last week. He'll be back with his team on Saturday, however, when they take on Real Salt Lake in front of their home crowd. Cruz, Romeo, and Brooklyn joked around with their grandfather, Ted, during the game while their little sister, Harper, hung at home with Victoria. Victoria had her own night out on the town Tuesday when she joined David at Marc Athony's concert. Harper's been a hot topic of conversation for the Beckhams, and she was on the forefront of questioning during a recent interview. David's on the cover of WSJ Magazine’s October men’s style issue, which is out Saturday. Inside the edition, he speaks about the London riots and how Harper's affecting his legendary looks. He said:

David on the London riots: “I think it’s disgusting what’s going on. The problem is, there is a minority of youth today in England who are not scared of authority. It they steal something, they are not worried about the consequences. When I was a kid growing up, I respected elders, I respected the law. If I was on a bus and an elderly lady got on, I would stand up and let her sit down. That doesn’t happen these days. . . . We’ve got the Olympics next year, and these pictures are being seen all around the world. It makes be physically sick."
David on gray hair: "Got my first gray a few years ago, and a couple more since we’ve had the little girl!”
