The unworn merchandise at Lulu's is just fine - and cheap! - but now they've added a new vintage collection for their quirkier customer. I'm stoked because the buyers know what's up - that most women these days seek chic and cheap. So far there are about 95 vintage items, most under $50. Sequined tube tops, sweet velvet dresses, quirky blouses, and denim rompers are waiting for you . . .

You know what I love more than a sale? A sale on already-cheap items! On that note, I urge you to peruse LuLu's sale section. It's filled with whimsical dresses, skirts, sweaters, pants, shoes, and bags. I'm all about exotic prints, and this 52nd St. Dress in Black and White ($35, originally $49) fits that criteria. The sheer ruffle sleeves provide contrast to the busy print.

Lulu Guinness Knows Valentine's Day

If you're not familiar with the queen of girly kitsch, allow me to introduce to you British accessories designer Lulu Guinness. Longtime favorite of mine since I lived in London in 2001, Lulu is every girlie girl's dream. With her quirky design aesthetic she is best known for her fan shaped beaded clutches and faboo laminated carry alls in girlie lipstick and high heel shoe prints. Just in time for V Day, check out these Lulu treasures:

On Our Radar: Lulu Frost Collaborates With Plaza Hotel and Urban Outfitters

The Plaza Hotel in NYC and hipster shopping joint Urban Outfitters are at two opposite ends of the spectrum, but at last they have something in common. Both are collaborating with high-end jewelry brand, Lulu Frost, founded by Lisa Salzer.

For the hotel, Salzer has created 14-karat and 18-karat gold pendants that represent the Plaza room numbers. Come September, they will be sold exclusively at the Plaza's new boutique. Secret Garden by Lulu Frost, which will be sold at Urban Outfitters in November, is in a more affordable price range ($18 to $48). The five-piece collection will include three necklaces and two earrings.

"We're doing a lot of charms that allude to the theme, like a crystal ball, a bug, a leaf and a lock and key," Salzer said.

The pieces come in either white bronze or 14-carat gold and I find the bracelets, earrings and necklaces to be perfect for layering. Prices range from $65 - $200.
