All this talk of Madonna and rhinestones at Balenciaga has me admitting that I too am a material girl. I'm a nostalgia buff and prefer the old Madonna to the new, but I love Madge either way. Also, Lindsay Lohan's take on Marilyn Monroe's famous Bert Stern photo shoot reminded me of this fabulous vid. Madonna has shown us many fantasy worlds of hers, but what gal wouldn't want men ogling and offering them ~~rhinestones~~ diamonds left and right? Further, love seeing the real Madonna in her old-school style that started it all.

Marilyn and Madonna Get Sticky and Sweet

Anyone else a Marilyn Minter fan? The photographer, known for delicious yet raw imagery, apparently has another big fan by the name of Madonna. The original Material Girl enlisted the photog to create a nine-minute video that will accompany her opening song "Candyshop" on her latest Sticky & Sweet tour. The vid, very sticky and sweet indeed, shows a pair of giant juicy lips playing with sparkly gold, orange, silver, and green goo. Marilyn was so flattered, she expected she would have to pay Madonna, but quite the contrary, "Then [Madonna] actually paid me a bunch of money and sent tickets,” said Minter. Here's a glimpse of the film; this already ran at the Sunshine Cinemas in NYC and in Times Square earlier this year. Nine minutes of this, giant sized, to Madonna?

Fab Ad: Madonna For Louis Vuitton Fall '09

One thing is for sure: Madonna and Marc Jacobs can't get enough of those bunny ears. Louis Vuitton's Fall '09 campaign, shot by Steven Meisel in NYC, captures (an overly) Photoshopped image of the the pop star wearing an outfit similar to the one she proudly paraded to the Met Gala complete with '80s-inspired mesh fingerless gloves and an oversized LV monogrammed bag. Madonna's mannequin-like pose and blemish-free face are too unrealistic for my taste but might appeal to some Material Girl aficionados. What say you - a hit or major diss?

Fab Flash: Madonna, Louis Vuitton Material Girl

Could it be true? Rumor has it Louis Vuitton has nabbed Madonna for its Spring campaign. According to sources, the ads were photographed by Steven Meisel. Meisel and the material girl have shared a long history of working together. His latest (confirmed) shoot with Madonna was for the May cover of Vanity Fair. We're bubbling with excitement.
