Dreaming of a White Summer

We're antsy for warmer weather, and so is Black by Sara. She's dreaming of a white Summer via Vogue Paris's all-white editorial featuring the gorgeous Malgosia Bela.

Some of you had a white Winter, and some of you are dreaming of a white Summer, like myself. White is undeniably refreshing and minimalistic color to wear. And what better way to cool off the intense heat than with an easy to decorate hue. As you already might know, I'm not that friendly with colors, but I'm willingly making my toes wet this Summer. I love to accessorize with colors, but bold statement outfits are not in my collection, yet. I loved these white editorial shots for Vogue Paris and will take some notes from it. Maybe I'll start off with a two toned striped gypsy dress. What is your favorite color for the Summer?

Fab Ad: Peter Copping's First Ad For Nina Ricci, Spring 2011

The gorgeous Malgosia Bela fronts the Spring '11 ad campaign for Nina Ricci. It's the first campaign creative director Peter Copping has overseen since taking the reins from Olivier Theyskens in 2009. Shot by Inez and Vinoodh, Malgosia is perched on a velvet banquet - is it a nightclub? - looking ultra feminine in an ethereal, frilly dress. According to WWD, Copping had global chicsters Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and Charlotte Casiraghi in mind when visualizing the campaign, saying they are "not sitting at home in a party dress." The married couple have worked with the hottest like Gucci, Pucci, Roberto Cavalli, Yves Saint Laurent, Isabel Marant, Givenchy, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, the list goes on. Inez and Vinoodh are celebrating 25 years in the business, so in honor of their top-notch work, let's gaze at 25 of our favorite shots. For Fall '10, Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci decided to stir the pot by featuring a transgender model in his ad campaign. Joining the top model ranks with Mariacarla Boscono, Joan Smalls, Ming Xi, Catherine McNeil, and Malgosia Bela - we love her pink hair - is Riccardo's personal assistant, Lea T. (previously known as Leo, here in the red lips). "She’s always been very feminine: superfragile, very aristocratic," said Tisci, who also noted Lea T. will be starting a new career in veterinary medicine in Milan. What are your thoughts on this feminine-masculine dichotomy?

I recently talked to you about the fashion metamorphosis of Chloé, more specifically its changing head designers. Now it's my pleasure to showcase the house's ad campaign transformation from 2003 until now. Over time, Chloé has delivered murky yet polished campaigns, with top models in decidedly serious dispositions.

In Fall of 2003, Angela Lindvall channeled a hot hippie chick. Fall 2004 (left) had Caroline Winberg and Dewi Driegen expressing anger in contrastingly feminine duds.

French Vogue Inspires Us to Take a Second Look at Headbands

We're a little wary of headbands here, stemming way back to painful middle school pictures that included giant, sequined, pink, bow-topped things. We've watched the headband return (this time hippie-style) atop the head like a crown. We said no. Then Malgosia Bela appears in a gorgeous editorial for French Vogue, edited by none other than Emmanuelle Alt, and we think: is it time to give headbands a second chance? Also, we're heading to Coachella soon, the base camp for all things hippie and headbanded - shall we incorporate them into our festival outfits?
