The 2012 Oscar nominations have been announced! Lots of award season regulars, like The Artist and The Descendants, got some love, but there were also a handful of surprises, like nominations for Nick Nolte, Gary Oldman, and Terrence Malick. Bridesmaids also scored big, with noms for best original screenplay and best supporting actress for Melissa McCarthy.

The Academy chose nine films for best picture, with lots of familiar titles in there, plus a couple that had early awards buzz but haven't necessarily had consistent attention, like Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and The Tree of Life. The films that racked up the most nominations were Hugo with 11 and The Artist with 10.

Michelle Williams Toasts Her Big Win With "Punisher" Harvey Weinstein's Buddies

Michelle Williams clutched her best actress in a comedy or musical Golden Globe for My Week With Marilyn en route to the Weinstein Company's afterparty last night. She posed on the carpet withouth her best friend and date, Busy Philipps. The girls met up inside, though, and Busy later tweeted her happiness for Michelle. Busy wrote, "That was genuinely one of the most fun nights ever. So incredibly proud of my best friend!" Harvey Weinstein got shout-outs in mutiple acceptance speeches last night, being alternatively referred to as "the punisher," or in a memorable quip from Meryl Streep, as "God." Meryl was another winner who turned out for the company's event. She took home the best actress in a drama honor for The Iron Lady.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who's a close friend of Harvey's, caught up with his wife, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman. Jason Statham, Rosie's boyfriend, was also there to share champagne with guys like Rob Lowe, Alexander Skarsgard, and Gerard Butler. Lots of stars and friends-of-the-famous rolled through the bash, including Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and a Beverly Hills housewife. Nominees like Octavia Spencer, Downton Abbey's Elizabeth McGovern, and winner Kelsey Grammer also stopped by - click through to see all the pictures!

Viola Davis Says She Had Her "Loser Face" Ready Before Her Best Actress Win Tonight

Viola Davis made an emotional speech tonight after taking the best actress honor at the Critics' Choice Awards. The actress stopped by to discuss that heartfelt speech, as well as her surprise over winning, in the press room shortly after leaving the stage. Viola talked openly about the controversy The Help sparked, the many movies she's thinking about making next, and how she was planning to spend her evening before she learned she was the winner in her category.

On how she makes such great speeches: "I have no idea, seeing that I had my loser face ready. I had a glass of champagne just so that I could relax all the muscles so the smile could come naturally. I guess I've always had a lot to say, you know? And I always felt like if I had a platform to say it, it would be God's greatest gift for me. But that's all I can say."

On not expecting her win: "I was really going to be OK. I was going to go home and get in my jacuzzi with my husband and you know, maybe have lots of champagne. I was good with it."

On what project she wants to do next: "Oh gosh, there's so many. I mean, there's so many that I've optioned. I have a story, the The Personal History of Rachel Dupree . . . I've always wanted to see all of Octavia Butler's work on screen. She's a black science-fiction writer. I want to be in a sci-fi . . . to be slaying dragons. It's endless, the possibilities. The narratives I've always wanted to be a part of that I've never seen myself in, and so there's not enough time in the day to tell you."

On whether she was surprised by The Help's success: "I thought it was going to go one way or the other, that it was going to be a huge success or a huge failure. It had that mark on it. It was about the maids in 1960s Mississippi with a very thick dialect, and I knew the African-American community was not happy with it, and yet I knew it had a huge fan base, so I knew it could go either way. And I'm glad it went this way."

Award season is officially around the corner, which means the nominations are coming in droves now. The Critics' Choice nominees feature some of the same contenders we've been expecting, like The Descendants and The Artist, but also has a few surprises. Namely, Martin Scorsese's Hugo has emerged as a force to be reckoned with, leading the pack with 11 nods.

Brad Pitt's got not one but two movies up for best picture, with Moneyball and The Tree of Life, not to mention a best actor nod for himself. The Help also cleaned up with eight nominations. On a personal note, we're excited to see some of our favorite 2012 comedies getting some recognition, like The Muppets, Horrible Bosses, and of course, Bridesmaids.

Prince Harry Has a Wild Night Out With Princess Eugenie

Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie hit up Public nightclub, owned by their pal Guy Pelly, in London on Friday, emerging after the evening of partying looking like they both may have spilled drinks on themselves. It's been four weeks since Harry acted every bit the gentleman and supportive brother at Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal wedding, and since then Harry has been getting back to his regular routine of hitting up the city's hot spots in his free time. He's Britain's most eligible bachelor at this point, and Prince Harry chatted up Charlize Theron at one of his polo matches, though he's rumored to still be going strong with Chelsy Davy. As for his brother, the newlyweds Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed the Obamas to the UK earlier in the week, which marked their first official duties as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
