Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Launch Olsenboye For JCPenney

On to the next. The rumors are true: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are launching a juniors line for JCPenney. Olsenboye makes total sense: the sisters began their retailer endeavors in the junior market - it's not to be forgotten.

The line will debut in 600 stores in February, but an innovative marketing campaign will kick off today for three days via an Olsenboye “treat truck” cruising around NYC selling clothes and giving out cupcakes, balloons and pins. The Olsen’s will be making a surprise appearance on one of the three days. As well, empty racks in 50 high-profile stores will be covered in Olsenboye samplings. Come Nov. 6, Olsenboye will be sold on jcp.com and in those 50 stores, including the Manhattan flagship, for a limited time. Updates and a teaser video can be viewed on Olsenboye.com.

The retail prices will range $20 to $50 for casual sportswear and accessories that includes denim, bottoms, tops, dresses, skirts, shorts, jackets, handbags and shoes. Super cool: it will dabble in travel-inspired mini collections, each reflecting the looks and trends of different cities.

What does Ashley say about the news: “Mary-Kate and I watch current trends and see our partnership with JCPenney as an opportunity to add something unique to the marketplace, especially in the current retail climate. Olsenboye is an extension of the Dualstar brand and we feel this collaboration complements and strengthens our business portfolio, delivering trend-based fashion at affordable prices.”

Steve Madden Makes Shoes and Bags For Olsenboye

Steve Madden collaborated on the Elizabeth and James footwear collection, so it's no surprise the brand has teamed up with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's new venture, Olsenboye. The shoe company is set to produce a collection of footwear and accessories that include suede flats, canvas sneakers, slouchy plaid handbags, and small bucket bags. Starting this Friday, Nov. 6, you can get your Olsenboye on at jcp.com and in 50 JCPennney stores. Look out for a full launch for Spring.

Olsens Expand The Row Via Eyewear

Clothing. Check. Footwear. Check. Jewelry. Check. Now Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are also adding sunglasses to their growing fashion empire. Fabulous. Come Spring, you'll be able to purchase four styles of sunglasses retailing from $325 to $390: a metal aviator pair, vintage-style brow-line shades, an oversize square shape, and a '60s-inspired round frame. "We're testing the market first and obviously these are four very different silhouettes, so we're seeing what people are responding to and we'll open up a couple more silhouettes for Fall," Ashley Olsen said. Look for the Spring styles at Bergdorf Goodman and Barneys New York.

Today is a special day. On June 13, in 1986, two future fashionistas - Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen - entered this world. And I'm glad they did. I can't imagine the world without Mary-Kate's hobo chic. She has outgrown that baggy-clothes phase, but continues to do her own thing. Then there's Ashley, the chic minimalist, anti-accessory. Give her a simple black Calvin Klein dress and killer shoes and she's golden. Then, of course, there are their fashion lines, The Row and Elizabeth and James. Speaking of, E&J's new shoe line is ready to devour. Let's all wish our favorite twins a happy 23rd by checking out their most innovative outfits through the years.

Maximalist Mary-Kate sported a silky LBD, cinched with a belt, and finished with jeweled mules. Surprisingly, she kept her jewelry to a minimum. Seeing as Ashley Olsen's boyfriend Justin Bartha stars in The Hangover, it's no surprise that his girl and her twin were there to support him at the LA premiere. By now it's super clear that Ashley and Mary-Kate's styles are polar opposites, even though their faces are so similar. Ashley, ever the minimalist, walked the red carpet in a long black Calvin Klein dress and chunky sandals, while the accessory-loving Mary-Kate wore a printed TopShop minidress, black blazer, Prada slingbacks, and her signature round sunglasses. I'm usually on Team Ashley but this one is a toughie. Who do you think looks more Fab?

This Week's Fab Favorite: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

A while ago I said I hated taupe. Times change. I especially thought it wasn't a flattering color on blondes. Put two adorably stylish blond twins in taupe together and you have this week's Fab favorite. Mary-Kate and Ashley have been about town(s) promoting their book Influence. This week they were autographing books at Borders in Brentwood, CA. As expected, they complement each other while maintaining their individual styles. But this time they taught me to love a color I once dismissed. That, is the power of the Olsen.Ashley, always the slightly sleeker, wore a leather mini, a dark sweater, and a lush taupe velvet jacket. I adore the jacket; it's slightly vampy, entirely luxe. Mary-Kate loosened up in a silky taupe utilitarian dress cinched with a bright red belt. She loaded on jewelry to add some boho flavor. Both went the exposed leg route, better to show off their edgy shoes. Ashley in the new YSL double platform shoe-to-have and Mary-Kate in Proenza Schouler cut-out booties. I wonder if they still play sisterly dress up and get ready together - looks like it!

Fab Flash:The Row Designs For the Boys

Our favorite twins are at it again and we couldn't be happier, or rather, our BFs couldn't be happier. Next on tap for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen: designing a men's collection.

The line will be a part of their upper-tier label, The Row. Ashley came up with the idea and has started the design process for the collection which is rumored to debut in Fall '09. Ashley is known for her cool mixed masculine style so it kind of makes sense. Excitement for all.

Which Olsen Influences You More?

Who can you scribe has influenced you? The more I think about it, the more people I could pay tribute to. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen looked understated stellar at Barnes and Noble promoting their book, Influence. We can't wait to learn all about who influenced the sisters, but we've already been influenced by their style, and business, prowess.

No Olsen is complete without towering heels. Other than Mary-Kate's black double platform Yves Saint Laurent pumps, she chose a professional LBD. Bare legs do her justice and tousled hair is pretty and easy. Ashley stepped it up in gray suede platforms, The Row liquid leggings, and a silky white double pocket blouse. Both Olsens have influenced me, what about you?
