The Look For Less: Lauren Merkin Metallic Clutch

Clutches were generally square and rectangular until Lauren Merkin came along. Her Metalic Clutch, $168, like so many of her other clutches, is hexagonal in shape and has lovely pleating in the front and back. I have been on the lookout for a less expensive version because I can't justify spending more than $100 on an evening bag.

It comes in various other colors so at that price, you can get a couple. I'd hide the chain strap, tuck the clutch under your arm and glam the night away!

Tory Burch Fall 2012

Tory Burch's Fall collection was inspired by "the idea of a prim girl who's under the spell of the wrong kind of guy." The results? An array of prim and polished looks injected with just the right amount of librarian girl sexiness. Sultry lace dresses showcased embellished collars, peplum tops were adorned with sequins, and pencil skirts were decorated with frilly hemlines. Burch also gave new life to tweed and tartan; a pair of knockout leather tweed-printed pants were the highlight of the show. Meanwhile, a cozy selection of bouclé jackets and angora sweaters provided texture and warmth. While Theophilus London serenaded the crowd (and Olivia Palermo jammed along to the beat), Minkoff's catwalkers hit the runway boasting an insanely cool crop of Fall looks. Bold in every sense, the collection delivered a confident mix of prints, sequins glamming up easy separates, and no shortage of megawatt color. She succeeds in delivering the "fearless and unfettered" - but it's not without a dose of the designer's quintessential wearability. There's an effortlessness to it all; Minkoff makes you believe pulling off a shinning emerald suit is just as easy as it looks.

We've yet to visit the famous Cour d'Honneur at the Palais Royal, Deborah Lloyd's inspiration point for her Kate Spade collection, but we can almost feel the excitement translated into her vibrant array of floral dresses, colorblock skirts, electrifying trousers, and irresistible accessories. The designer added a boyish twist - influenced by Garance Doré Parisian chic style - to her signature polish, pairing slouchy sweaters with cheeky printed skirts and casual tees with girlie feathered skirts. The amount of prints could have been overwhelming, but stylist Brad Goreski managed to temper the bright patterns through structured pea coats and separates.
