Fab Flash: Stephen Jones Tips His Hat to Audrey Tautou

Stephen Jones has taken a role in the highly anticipated film, Coco Before Chanel featuring Audrey Tautou. The sought-after milliner, who has designed head pieces for some of the top fashion houses including Mugler, Gaultier, and Christian Dior, will be creating hats for our little French Fabcon in the upcoming biopic.

"She will make a wonderful Chanel, she is equally as petite. We have had to adjust everything. We put a little flower on her head and it looked like a cushion," said Jones. We can't wait to see his millinery madness!

Millinery

n. Women's hats and other articles sold by a milliner, or the profession or business of designing, making, or selling women's hats and hat trim. Millinery, if taken in a more general sense, also means any accouterments that are functionally unnecessary, such as a garnish on a dish, or the extra cuff-buttons on a man's dress jacket. Many famous early designers began in millinery including Coco Chanel.

Husband and wife duo, Thea Grant and Nicolas Bazzani, are the masterminds behind the label, Thea Grant Jewelry. Thea, a Brooklyn native, founded the company in 2003, after having much success with her designs on the runway. Prior to that, she dabbled in haute couture, costume design, sculpture and millinery. In 2005, she was joined by her hubby, who quite fittingly had experience in art industrial design and product design.

Together, Thea and Nicolas create beautiful yet oddly unique jewels by combining unexpected objects like for this Clermont Avenue Necklace, $348. Vintage objects, fobs and charms are likely to grace a Thea Grant piece. Materials used range from vintage brass to sterling to gold, and the result is anywhere from delicately gothic to edgy rock 'n' roll.

Prices range from $70 for earrings to $200 for a bracelet and can be purchased on Shopbop.
